He should go to court, if not satisfied, orders must be obeyed.

In a sane country even the vice admiral should be in jail by now. It's only in Nigeria that soldiers will be doing
Ur right. Even Wike should have been sent to jail in a sane country. Documents showing how he confisticated lands for his children, family and friends are all over the net yet his yet to be probed.

Do you understand that the FCT minister is the administrative authority in charge of land in the FCT? Therefore for a soldier not on official duty (the person who sent them there is even retired), to restrict his access to that land when on his own official duty is against the law that creates and empowers Wike's office? Of course you know all this. Keep asking funny questions.
Official duty or not, LT Yerima can not be blamed for carrying out an order given to him by his superior. Military personnel are trained to carry out any order given to them by superior officers. Disobeying his superior is seen as mutiny.
Wat are my driving at? The Admiral should be held accountable and not the innocent LT who was only carrying out an order as stated in the military.

That is incorrect. A soldier is entitled to disobey an illegal order. Even at that, his manner of approach could have been much better.

A minister appointed by the chief commander, in a democracy system of Govt, a solider is challenging him, and you all feel this will go well, with him and the person issuing the orders.

Let’s watch how this end, he’s disrespectful, challenging the 3rd most powerful person in Nigeria. Let’s see how this end.
Re: Soldiers Block Wike, FCTA Officials From Accessing Land In Abuja by AndSunGorilla: 11:07pm On Nov 11, 2025
This is a very serious issue., coming after the coup rumors. In my opinion, Wike could have handled it better and more maturedly (why the need for the cameras?). That said, am sure many soldiers have heard the news or watched the videos and you can be sure some of them would get angry whether it's justifiable or not. Calling a commissioned officer a fool publicly isn't a wise thing to do.
Our politicians need to be very careful and not sow seeds that could grow into what we all don't want.

In a sane society, the army officials shouldn't be above the law and shouldn't be employed as maiguards for a private property. But let's not forget this is still Nigeria.

Oh...What a country!!!

All shades of everything wrong in full display!!!

A country fighting internal insecurities and terrorism, is having a commissioned Officer and his troops, guiding a parcel of land within a community in a democracy angry angry angry

A minister of the FCT, ranked as a Governor and under the direct instruction of a President, C-in-C of the Armed Forces, cannot apply decorum and understand a soldier under direct order will not disobey his superior under any guise, by obeying a civilianhuh What happened to put a call through to the NSA, CDS...if dem no fit resolve am...then go back to the President the soldiers have to obey na..huh

Everything wrong with this country about power play was just displayed in full glare.

Nonsense!

I don't like Wike at all but a Captain should never speak to a Director in FCTA, let alone a Minister that way. Rubbish country.

Ordinary cadet in training will talk to him that way let alone a commissioned officer
A minister cannot stand where soldiers do
You only have a govt cos they allow it

Was it ever on record that the so-called ex CNS recorded any success against Boko Haram during his time in office?
does bOko fight on water

A so-called minister was using derogatory words on a uniformed man. A soldier is an embodiment of the nation etc..... calling a man I'm uniform a fool thereby disrespecting the country as a whole. Yet, you see nothing wrong in it. Sometimes I wonder how y'all think and if politics have such power to affect ones reasoning.
you see why we say nothing like rigging

Let me tell you how this is going to end up. The Chief of Defense Staff will meet with Wike alongside the former CNS and try to resolve the issue and possibly pacify Wike. For Wike to go to that site himself, that land has neither papers nor appproval.

If Wike refuses to be pacified, then that land is gone. In a democratic government, politicians are more powerful than the military. If the current CDS or CNS refuses to do the right thing by removing those soldier from that land, all Wike has to do is pull a few strings with the MOD, NSA or SGF or Chief of Staff; and the military chiefs will lose their seat.

Why din he do that instead of demystifying his gragra

Given the recent coup scare, all the service chiefs would not want negative media on the military at this time.

In sane climes it is the illegality of the duty that would be the point of conversation. It is an illegal order to use a naval officer to guard an undeveloped land. What manner of wastefulness is that particularly as the nation is battling a plethora of insecurities everywhere. Is guarding an empty land the mandate of a naval officer?
illegal how? every retired general has 2 or 3 personal attached to them, so for a 3 star general to call there boss to send personal to is property how is it illegal?

Soldiers being confrontational with a serving minister on his constitutional duty is impunity and should not be encouraged.

This has nothing to do with age but everything to do with obeying authority. The soldier should have respectfully told Wike to consult his boss who gave him the order.

Typically, a sane officer will say "Sir or Honorable Minister, please may I suggest that you resolve this with my boss? I am just an officer acting on orders. I have to protect my job Sir. I am not trying to undermine you Sir but I am acting on orders Sir. Failure of which I will be sanctioned. Try to understand Sir".

Instead, he was foolishly saying "the papers are complete and valid. I cannot allow you to access the land".

Haba, you are telling. Minister of FCT that the papers are valid. Was the officer there when the land was purchased? He didn't even have a photocopy of the title with him for clarification.

That was very silly. You dey argue with person wey fit revoke your boss land title documents. In Yoruba, they say "if they send you message as a slave, you ought to deliver it as a freeborn".
did the minister bring any papers or he brought police escort

The man Wike himself is the biggest beneficiary of this form of injustice and abuse of power. That's why a lot of people are happy he has been served his own menu. Let him also have a taste of what he does to others.
