The land in question is vested in the minister and no one else. That place is not a military barrack. It is a land that is governed by civil authority. Immediately the FCT minister ordered him out of the place, he has no reason not to comply. Preventing the FCT minister from accessing the land is the height of irresponsibility. It should never happen again.

If Wike understood how the military operates, he would have contacted the superior officer directly instead of creating unnecessary drama.

Nothing will happen him , his job there wasn't illegal , he was posted to serve as CSO to the retired Naval brass ,by law the retired Naval brass has his full compliment of security and personal staff with him till the day he dies .their duties are clear , to protect the life and properties of the former service chief ...He was doing his job

But he is the minister of the fct. And if a soldier is disobeying a minister of the republic, and people are hailing him because tinubu, it shows that people who are in opposition are just as lawless as those in government.

Under the law, a military officer does not have the right to intervene in land dispute matters. Talkless of the stopping a Minister from inspecting a Land.

Under the Land Use Act, Land ownership belongs to the Governor of the State, of which Wike is equivalent to in the FCT.

Land disputes are civil cases and even the Police doesn't have the right to intervene, until there is a crime, like fighting

The basic responsibility of the Nigerian Military, is to defend Nigeria from external aggression.

Maintain the territorial integrity and secure the borders.

Suppress insurrection and act in aid of civil authorities to restore order (under specific conditions and Presidential directive only).

Any attempt by a military officer like what we saw today, to assert jurisdiction or forcibly intervene in a non-military land dispute is unlawful and an abuse of power.

That Military Officer and who ever sent them on that mission, needs to face punishment for acting outside their legal jurisdiction.

It is an insult to our democratic ruling, to have military officer sent to protects ordinary Land.

That almost went south. We would have been telling another story now.
The situation should have been better handled by senior man FCT emperor. He shouldn't have descended so low into a shouting match with the young officer. He should have stepped back, and talked with someone on his own level, who has the authority to rescind whatever last order the officer was standing upon.

Pete Hegseth, a civilian is the U.S. Secretary of War (formerly Secretary of Defense), mention that person in the U.S. military that will disobey an order from him? There is no general or whoever who outranks Pete Hegseth's civilian authority in the military. Let you guys keep deceiving yourselves in this country.
