Apologise for what? In analysing an issue, I go to the root, instead of dancing around chasing shadows. If the foundation is faulty, nothing will stand.

This fellow is just another charlatan and attention seeker who never speaks the truth. Always looking to score cheap and useless political points.

I want to read about the punishment of the soldier and his superior on this platform, if we are being serious. Enforcing illegality and expecting to be treated with dignity. Are you kidding me?

I support the FCT Minister's actions 100%. Did that soldier have the right to be there and also prevent the Minister's access to the land? How dare he? What are we even talking about in this country? Is this a military regime? What a country.
You're right
Nigeria is yet to civilise its military and it's just another Testament to the tardy handling of national issues by our politicians
In countries like US and UK with more prestigious military, you don't see the president or PM having a meeting with the service chiefs without the ministers of defence or defence secretary like they are called in the US. But this is the norm in Nigeria. We see pictures of the president having security briefing with the service chiefs without the defence minister and we all clap. If the service chiefs meet with the president and take orders from him without the presence of their civilian head, are we not summarily telling them that they are above all civilian authorities and defer to only the president? So why should we be surprised when they become a law unto themselves?
I don't like Wike for his hypocrisy and I derived a lot of laughs from that video but the truth is that the military guys were on a wrong mission. The fault was not theirs since they claimed to be following a direct order. In saner climes, their CO and the high command will have some serious questions to answer

A soldier must obey authority. He didn't come there of his own accord. Your post shows that you don't really understand how the military works. In the military, you obey before complaint. That's why Fela called soldiers zombie. That your Wike is the one that allowed arrogance to befuddle his brain by dragging with a soldier acting based on instructions he got from his superiors. Wike needed to reach out to the superiors of that soldier and immediately everything would be resolved, but no, he resorted to public disgrace.

You and Wike are the type that will be insulting estate security officers who are merely acting on the instructions they were giving by the estate management cool

Wike just behaved like an illiterate tout a minister of his office should have known that there are more responsible channels he should have used to deal with situation instead of shouting and abusing the officer like a violent tout.
Responsible channels that did not consider the legal authority that supervises such territory. Was there any aggression on that territory that requires the presence of the military? You are free to hate somebody but don't remove your thinking cap to face issues unbiasedly.

The minister may have a right to demand for documents as proof of ownership of a land but he cannot just be walking around harassing people anyhow. Who says the development is illegal? The government through the minister should show his proof! If Wike was told that a retired COAS is tresspassing, there are avenues to seek redress - through the courts or through the C-in-C. Going there with hoardes of cameramen is grandstanding. I cant speak about the officer. Actually, an officer assigned to an ex CNS is more like his personal staff. He follows his chain of command. After duly introducing himself and also assuring the minister that the development is legal, the minister should just have taken up the matter with his boss and not join issues with an officer on assignment. And the he started calling him a big fool! That is disrespect to the military. It is unwarranted.
It is the officer that is supposed to present a document showing that he was on legal mission and not just mere pronoucement. Wike is on a level with minister of defence who is the highest ranking officer in a civilian regime. Both of them take order from the president and no other authority.

Abegi make we hear word jor. What illegal order was the officer disobeying. Is it Wike that station him there. The soldier is following command from his boss, and the only person that can order his boss is Tinubu and not Wike.
I guess you didn't read where the post said Wike should have gone to the appropriate channel to get the issue resolve. Wether the land was legal or illegal, Wike should have acknowledge the power of the former military officer and go thru the right channel to solve the issue. As if the Wike himself hasn't use his power to break many laws and disregard them.

You don't seem to get it at all. Wike and the former CNS as you call it are answerable to the president. But that officer station there is answerable to his boss and it's only what his boss tells him he will do and not Wike.
Nothing concerns him with showing Wike any documents, he has answered him the way he can and it's left for Wike to take up the matter with his boss. Shikena

A commissioned officer that go about defending building illegally is not qualified to be a commissioned officer. He himself has no integrity for doing that illegitimate job.

The president is the commander in chief of the arm forces in Nigeria. Insulting that officer is Insulting the president and the nation.
I agree with you....
Don't you also think that the bandits who have been killing officers in the North have also been killing the president who is the commander in chief and thats an absolute more insult on the president and that's a more serious offence to the nation and to the military!!!!!!

The chain of command that deployed the officer in such a civil matter, was also wrong.
So everyone is wrong except you? the only “right” person in the country! You’re also wrong.

It's sad that we encourage lawlessness in this country & expect the country to progress. A commissioned Naval officer has better responsibilities than standing as a security man in an undeveloped property of a former CNS. Soldiers should concentrate on their duties of defending the country from external aggression instead of interrupting pubic officers from during their jobs.
Soldiers only takes order from their superiors, the defence ministry/advisor and the commander in chief. What was Wike himself doing there in the first place if not for abuse, intimidation, oppression and to show himself? Is Wike a law enforcer agent? Since the soldier was given an order from his superior, all Wike should have done was to call the defence minister, once the defence minister put a call across it wouldn't take 2 seconds b4 those soldiers evacuate that premises.
