Ignorance is not bliss o.

The retired Naval Officer ought, under the circumstances, to have engaged the civil police, if he suspected likelihood of arson or criminal trespass.

I am just telling you how it works. He will, as a Rtd CNS, for life, have a detachment protecting him and his assets. Its standard protocol.

O
Kobicove:
To start with why should a senior military officer whether active or retired be using military personnel who should be at their duty post to secure his private property?
This is the core question many are not asking. If things are not set aright and done appropriately problems like this would continue to occur. Military men should have no business in civilian matters. Their business should be at the barracks protecting the territorial integrity of the country or during a martial law or what we call state of emergency. Asides these soldiers must not be seen in public.
Do you know how rare it is to see South African soldiers in public? They are only see during periods of unrest. They maintain their respect that way but over here........

So this is the man who sat down in his house and prevented a serving minister from doing his job?

The government should severely penalise him for that stupid act.

Nigerians who are supporting the actions of that junior officer yesterday are very ignorant

Nobody's referring to that. He wasn't given that privilege to send our military personnel to go into issues that fall under purview of civilian authorities.
Can he get Yerima as Aide? Yes.
Can he send Yerima to go guide his private property and obstruct a Minister from carrying out his lawful duty? Hell NO!

What I usually find annoying about the military guys is their sanctimonious posturing.

Buhari often insults politicians with every opportunity he gets, claiming they are corrupt and other whats not. The same as the young Lieutenant who said he has integrity but rode on the back of his father into NDA. Here’s another one of them who despite having left office more than two years ago, is still abusing his privileges.

How much are you will to bet Wike will spend 8 as minister of FCT with Tinubu ?!

Make una shut it with this senseless talk.

Penguin2:
If we were to judge the matter by law and legality, Wike will win.

But this matter is complicated.

Vice Admiral AZ Gambo is senior to the current CDS, General Oluyode, and by that, the CDS cannot go against his orders. This is simple military tradition and precedence.

The only person that can give a counter order to the orders of Vice Admiral Gambo is the Commander-In-Chief, Tinubu, but even Tinubu must be careful because there’s a way he’d handle the matter in favour of the law (Wike) and he would anger the rank and file of the military establishment which will not be good at all.

Remember he just survived a coup.

There’s a reason people like AZ Gambo are left alone to do their thing as far as their actions are not very much against the law or threat to public peace and order.

How much does Wike and FCT ministry want to generate from the General registering for his development levy. It’s a totally unnecessary fracas.

I won’t be surprised if Wike is sacked because of this.

If not for bad belle, people from Northern Nigeria are really very beautiful and handsome.

Wonder why they do not inter-marry with southerners?

You and I know that Tinubu lacks the guts to arrest and prosecute a retired CNS, not now that he's licking the asses of the northern elite for 2027 plus that he should be walking on egg shells with the rumoured coup. He isn't Obj nor PMB that arrested generals and got away with it. Arrest and prosecute him on what grounds sef? Did he invite the drunken master to his property? For the young officer, he's shown great composure and comportment even when faced with the worst possible stench of booze halitosis he'd encounter in his life, and will earn great commendation from his superiors.
You really think Tinubu lick ass? It is obvious you are a kid, Tinubu that was blasting a sitting president that is a general even as an ordinary civilian? You know nothing

You have submitted a very good and intelligent analysis.

However, I can assure you that Wike will also not be sacked just becoz of this case. Because such a decision will undermine Tinubu's influence and chances in the subsequent election in Wike's region.

Tinubu will just broker a peace deal between both parties and everyone will chill.

What played out yesterday between the FCT Minister and the fine young Officer further proved the level of lawlessness and wroth in Nigeria. Particularly, under this Tilumbu goddammed regime. Both the minister, the young officer and the Rtd. general who gave the order to obstruct the minister are all wrong.

How about the several instances where Wike revoked peoples C of O's, and even demolished these properties without due process. This, we know, is the modus operandi of Wike and putting off such resistance is 100% in order. You can't shout and intimidate an officer that knows his onions like that, and think only you have the monopoly of madness.

They are only mad because the young officer refused to bend to him. So, you want to bring in your thugs to demolish the property first before demanding to see the papers?

You can't just mess with some folks in this already messed up system.

If this is true then that's what probably got into his head. Smh.

Please let us leave out his Dad out for now. The old man served and should be accorded his respect.

I am not sure his Dad or any Dad will be really happy to watch his son have a shouting match with a representative of the President.

I will not be surprised if his Dad is already reaching out to people to intervene. His father may not like the fact that it was even his own son the retired Senior Officer sent on such non-core military task that doesn't count for promotion.

That's not fame but notoriety that can lead to his being dismissed from the armed forces or posted to one obscure place where he will prefer to quit than to take such posting. If he's in Sambisa or our embassy in Polynesia, will he have time for land matters? No nah.
What do you mean by "what got into his head"
Was he insultive?

I just don't understand Nigerians

He never blasted a sitting president who was a general, he was rather blabbing frustratingly in Yoruba language about being cheated out of power considerations despite all he'd done. Don't spin it.

Smh.

It's obvious that you have not had case in court before or got involved in land matters litigation.

That is bad PR to the retired officer. He could actually land in bigger problems ,even arrested and prosecuted.

The Minister represents the President. If he takes on the Minister then he is taking on the President and that's bad for him.

Interestingly, the retired officer wouldn't send his own son on such errand and when he was a young officer, he wasn't having a shouting match publicly with constituted authorities or behaving the way the young officer behaved to the Minister. If he was behaving like that he would not get to the pinnacle of his career.

FG will investigate the appropriateness or otherwise of a serving or retired senior military officer to give order to a junior officer to restrain a Minister on his lawful duty from performing his duty.
That will be visited to ensure that such disgraceful scene never happens again.

That Junior Officer should have known the limits of his discretion and just kept quiet after saying he was obeying order which has now turned out to be an order given by a retired military officer.

So if tomorrow, retired or serving officers tell him to slap a government official, he will do it niyen.

It was the President he was challenging by placing the 'order ' above the authority of the president delegated to the Minister.

Whatever incentive he got or was promised by the retired Senior Officer for him to behave in that manner must be investigated too. Haba!

It is completely unacceptable that the Minister was prevented from performing his lawful duty by a junior officer acting on the order of a retired military officer. Everyone including the junior officer and the retired Senior naval officer should by now have been rounded up and quizzed if it's not already done.

That video is a very sad event that embarrasses the President and the nation.
at the highlighted do you have Facts that depict the land doesnt belong to the owner

clearly there is no dispute of ownership between two persons

If Wike is claiming the land belongs to the Govt, for what use ??
All the land Wike had forcefully grab is it for national interest or resell ... seek the truth nd it shall set you free

Wike really fall his hand here... he came out to puff out his chest, do you know who I am..

If someone wanted to humiliate him, whether that project was canceled or not.. the have already humiliated Wike.

What Wike should have done when report got to him , was to stay in his office and call his fellow minister of defense.. and resolve everything behind the scene.. everything is not gra gra ...

Now, this video is forever out there...the damage is done.

Remember, everything is not gra gra..
