Temseun:From what I have observed, the document review is usually scheduled for 10days to the interview date. |

So, I did my road test about 3 weeks ago and mistakenly failed at the last step. The examiner wasn't in the car with me, she put a 2 way camera on my dashboard, one pointing to the road and the other inside the car. All she had to do was call my phone to give me directions on where to go and what to do. I had an adult with a driver's license sit on the passenger side with me without talking to me or making any hand gestures. That's the rule. I had already completed the test, as I was about to enter the office building where the test began, unfortunately, I drove through the sign that says "do not enter" I drove through it because it was not properly placed. I appealed but they refused. Yesterday, I went again for the test at a different location and passed it despite several mistakes. This time around the examiner sat with me in the car and he was very lenient with his judgement and acessment. I didn't drive in Nigeria, I just recently started learning to drive about a month ago in the US here, so you can understand how excited I am to pass it. I know a guy who's driven in Nigeria for years yet failed the road test twice. On one occasion he didn't even get to get on the road because he ran over the cones while attempting parallel parking and reverse bay parking. |

internationalman:How much was the test? |
| Re: At The NVC Processing Stage Of The U. S Family Based Preference Category. by internationalman(m): 11:06pm On Nov 06, 2025 |
Ellie123:$10 for the written test. You pay the money before you start the test, so wether you pass or not the money is not refundable. For the road test, you will only have to pay $20 after you have passed the test. You don't get to pay if you fail. |

Please guys, how? where do you pay for the green card? And is it a must to pay b4 they mail it? Or it depends on the type of visa? Cos. I hrd some people just get it in their mail. I will appreciate your response. |

RAYSKIS:There's a form for household members i-864A, look into it. That's what your petitioner's spouse needs to fill. |
| Re: At The NVC Processing Stage Of The U. S Family Based Preference Category. by internationalman(m): 4:00am On Nov 09, 2025 |
realone1917:You must pay for it to be mailed to your address. I paid mine just as soon as my visa was issued and I got it about one month after I landed in the US. There's a guy that traveled 2 month before me (I got mine before him) that didn't know he had to pay a fee for his Green card before it could deliver to him. After 3 months in the US before he realized he had to pay for it, thanks to him calling me to express his concern and fear. He paid and eventually got his Green card after almost 5 months. |

internationalman:Yeah. But my guy who entered last January hasn't got his wife's and two children's. Only his has come home. Crazy USCIS! Unrelated advice: If you know you 'claimed' asylum and you got approved, and esp you are now a GC holder; do not visit the country you sought asylum from. RAYSKIS:If your petitioner and her spouse usually file joint tax returns, then your petitioner tax returns is enough so far they make enough income but if they usually file their taxes separately, then the spouse will act as co sponsor and he will fill a separate form.

|

aestake:Yeah, they are like that sometimes. But last January is almost a year now. That should be enough time to raise his concern. Did he contact them? In our case though, my brother's own arrived before mine, but it was just about a week difference. 😂😂 Why would a person visit the country they claimed is dangerous and running away from? Or is there another reason asylum is seeked? |

internationalman:The fact that you didn't drive in Nigeria helped. You fortunately didn't learn BAD driving habits. Most of the people who drivers call slow drivers in Nigeria are actually those who drive. well. I need to get my license asap, I haven't needed a car so far but time will soon come |
| Re: At The NVC Processing Stage Of The U. S Family Based Preference Category. by Taal17: 10:36pm On Nov 10, 2025 |
aestake:Cos their asylum claim was fake. |
| Re: At The NVC Processing Stage Of The U. S Family Based Preference Category. by aestake: 11:26pm On Nov 10, 2025 |
internationalman:I have told him to get to USCIS but he said he is stuck with the robot each time he called. |

aestake:He should look for a way to contact them physically. Did he just pay for his green card only or did he pay for himself and 3 of them too? Separately of course |

Taal17:I have an uncle who's been driving in the US for over 30 years, but he's scared of driving whenever he's in Nigeria. He usually employs the services of a driver.. Even fast and furious drivers got nothing on Nigerian drivers 😂 I had to do the driving stuff because most jobs here require you drive and a driver's license and most of them are in locations not in the line of buses and trains. They are as far as 20 to 50 miles. The city is too big. |

Taal17:It does not necessary means the asylum claim is fake. When asylum is sought and given, that means it was established that there was a life threatening situation with the person wherever he or she is coming from, and the threat or risk still exists. Traveling back to that same place under asylum, nullifies this claim, this is under humanitarian law of the UN. |
| Re: At The NVC Processing Stage Of The U. S Family Based Preference Category. by aestake: 8:19pm On Nov 11, 2025 |
internationalman:No, he paid b4 landing last January. |
| Re: At The NVC Processing Stage Of The U. S Family Based Preference Category. by aestake: 8:21pm On Nov 11, 2025 |
Lordcrixus:The claim might not be fake, but turning around to go back to the country you sought asylum from is crazy esp in Trumplandia. Trump doesn't believe any is real though. |

aestake:He should just look for a way to contact them physically. Better yet employ the services of an immigration lawyer |
