The Department of State Services, DSS, Nigeria’s domestic intelligence agency, has filed a six-count charge against 27-year-old Innocent Chukwuemeka Onukwume for allegedly calling for the overthrow of President Bola Tinubu’s administration through a military coup.

Onukwume, a resident of Umusayo Layout in Oyigbo Local Government Area, Rivers State, reportedly made the calls for a coup in tweets posted on his X account (@theagroman) in October, according to the charges.

The charges, filed before the Federal High Court in Abuja under case number FHC/ABJ/CR/610/2025, alleged that Onukwume also sought assistance from members of the military to execute the alleged coup.

The filing was submitted on November 11 by A. M. Danalami on behalf of the DSS.

What has been filed against the 16 officers that plotted the alleged coup? People have said worst things in social media and gotten away with it. Isa Pantami called for jihad and became a minister. Na for igbo place una pricks dey rise. Time will tell.

Say your own, maybe you may be lucky to become a minister like Pantami. But, you should know that there are the second and third options too for you either being ignored or becoming like Chukwuemeka

These people, eebhoes , are unenlightened and extremely lawless people . He doesn't actually understand the serious and dire consequences of all he posted. This is high treason. The government is just showing leniency to him by bringing it under cyber crime to arrive at a lenient judgment for him for political considerations. Calling for violent overthrow of a government, whether elected or not , is a capital offense and the only judgment it draws is death sentence. If it was in those days, his trial would not last a week, and his public execution days later because all the facts are in the public domain. And they don't keep coupist long in prison , to avoid organizing another from there. These are primitive , lawless and injustious people.
