I understand that not all bulbs are bright but even a dull bulb should be bright enough to read and cure itself of glaring ignorance borne out of a wilful need to demonise one politician and idolise the other
Will it not be shameful to find a dull bulb still not useful enough for reading?
You that your bulb is so bright that you have been blinded by BS carefully worded reporting and have totally ignored the judgement, congratulations to you.

Maybe you should at some point, if you can be so bold, show us the numbers that Peter Obi's legal team claimed they have that don't tally with INEC's own.

I see now that the problem you have is that the reporting did not suit your bias. Therefore it must be wrong. Shall we go bring The Nation or PM news to make you sleep well?
Unfortunately your bias is not a relevant factor in deciding how cases are prosecuted nor is enlightening your dim bulb one of the issues that preoccupy the minds of lawyers at that stage. So even if you're within your right to set up your own barometer for believability, you're not with the required means to make it a central theme in the course of the case. You have to learn to work with what you're given instead of rambling against the tools like a typical lazy man

You know too that the Supreme Court held that Lagos State has the power to create local administrative units preparatory to LGA creation. However, such councils do not become constitutional LGAs until approved and listed in the Constitution. They are not yet this.

Thus, Lagos acted within its legislative powers to establish LCDAs for administrative convenience, but outside constitutional recognition for federal allocation and intergovernmental purposes.

Perharps there should be regulation for how long these LCDAs can exist without becoming LGAs. There are grey areas around how local governments are created and managed over the country. Arguments around land mass not equating population but more importantly is the question of prudent use of resources.
I'm not aware that SC made such pronouncement. Are you back to your taqqiyarization of written texts or it's just an unfortunate slip
What you should do is quote the relevant laws or parts of the judgement of the SC that gave Lagos or any state the right to establish an extra layer of political framework outside what's in the constitution. Don't turn this to another waste of time

One last one from me. The stuff you collated was craftily written, which is standard fayre for Nigerian journalists when they have been paid and don't want to commit themselves.

Till today, not one person has seen fit to publish a copy of the reported information from Peter Obi's lawyers to stir up some conversation.

Thankfully, or hopefully, gbugburu, kuli kuli et al sellers were allowed to use them after the court cases. The most useful the photocopy from IREV would have ever been.

The Supreme Court's judgment on December 10, 2004, established a critical distinction between the power to create local administrative areas and the power to give them constitutional recognition:
[b]State power to create: The Court affirmed that a State House of Assembly, under Sections 7(1) and 8(3) of the Constitution, may legislate to establish and manage local administrative areas and initiate the process for creating new LGAs. However, such entities do not become constitutionally recognized LGAs until the National Assembly amends the First Schedule accordingly.”

Federal power for recognition: For these new areas to receive constitutional recognition and benefit from the Federation Account, the National Assembly must perform a "consequential" role by amending the First Schedule of the Constitution.

Withholding of funds: The court declared that the federal government's withholding of funds was illegal and unconstitutional. It ordered the release of all outstanding statutory allocations for the 20 constitutionally recognized LGAs in Lagos State.

Look into the interpretation of the judgement and point how the creation of the LCDA violates it.

I'm not sure you have read the judgement. What is the distinction between your so-called local administrative areas and LGAs anyway. Section 8 makes it clear that a referendum needs to be conducted before an LGA can be formed. Can you tell me in the constitution which agency is empowered to conduct referendums

Unless you are a lawyer go ask a lawyer for interpretation and implications. Get understanding why these LCDAS continue to exist without legal constitutional challenge for 20years +.

Did you not read some degree of compliance with the requirements for a referendum? Will the SIEC work without reference to federal INEC? The politics behind the national assembly's non compliance with judiciary instructions should be understood.

Thank you for this and your previous Uber knowledgeable posts on the topic. Quite enlightenening actually.

Bear in mind sha that the Obidient you are teaching sense to, I have had cause to come across him once or twice, isn't here to learn from more learned people.

Morris Monye, who was a member of Peter Obi's presidential campaign council and who was director of mobilisation in the Obidient Movement, said many of the things that I said (in the first post on this thread) in his resignation letter.

1) It was as if we had been taken back to prehistoric times.

2) It was as if the Appeal Court took the words from my head (there's nothing special about my head, they simply applied common sense).

Remember that Dondekojo is a PDP politician.

You see, Labour Party members were talking about blurred results on Irev portal and I was wondering if they were normal. THEN THEY ACTUALLY TENDERED THOSE BLURRED RESULTS AS EVIDENCE! Can you imagine that??

1) It has been the case (and I wrote about this years ago) that every political party is entitled to have an agent at the polling unit. It is also a fact that every party's agent is entitled to have an original copy of the result.

2) Nowadays political parties have situation rooms, so that they can receive reports from their agents in real time.

The court expects you to tender those results that your agents were given!

What is blurred results from Irev portal??
