Stop The Convention, Set Up A Caretaker Committee by NgeneUkwenu(op): 7:25am On Nov 13, 2025
On 12 November 2025, I had the pleasure to receive members of the BOT Reconciliation Team of our great party, the PDP, led by Wakili Adamawa, Amb. Hassan Adamu. They requested for a meeting in order to seek my opinion on the possible ways of restoring peace within the party. It was a meaningful and incisive meeting during which matters of great importance affecting our party were discussed.

We deliberated extensively on issues relating to the National Convention scheduled for 15-16 November 2025 in Ibadan.

In summary, I expressed deep regret that, despite the selfless and arduous efforts by some of us, the Convention has become mired in extensive controversy, both political and legal. This does not bode well for not only our party, but for Nigeria’s democracy in general.

I made it clear to the BOT team that political matters can hardly be resolved through the courts. Affairs of political parties are best resolved amicably with all sides seated round the table. Legal battles will only continue to cause friction.

As it stands, the fact is that there are conflicting court orders in relation to the validity of the scheduled convention. As a result, there is no assurance as to whether the conduct and outcome of the convention will stand.

As a leader, on whose shoulder lies the political weight of the yearnings and aspiration of my people, I cannot in all good conscience take or be part of any action that will jeopardise their aspirations

My advice to the BOT team is that the only solution available to us now is for the party to set up a Caretaker Committee to steer the affairs of the party for the time being. This must be done in the next two days. This is the path to true reconciliation and stability of the Party. It is also the best way to give confidence to our members who intend to contest elections on the PDP platform. In the present circumstance, no serious politician with electoral ambition will seek to contest on the platform of the PDP, not knowing whether his or her nomination will be valid or declared null and void.

It is clear that going ahead with the National Convention in Ibadan on 15-16 November 2025 will only serve to further fuel the present crisis. Therefore, going ahead with the Convention as scheduled is a waste of efforts. It does not have my support. It's not too late to find a win-win solution

No, their Legal Adviser, Barr. Fergie001, asked them to go ahead grin grin

That's a good advice but it will not be heeded because it's coming from an unreliable and terribly biased Source.

He works for Wike and said nothing all the while. Infact, he nominated the National Legal Adviser and tried to use him to scuttle it. If you tell them to set up a caretaker Committee now, the FCT man will still want to cause chaos unless he is in charge.

Saraki, please join APC... I beg you.

How many years left for the next general election? Hahahah Pdp should just fold their structure for president Tinubu in 2027 election as it's already too late for them to make any serious moves before 2027

Nobody is contesting Tinubu but Guber seats, you didn't knew?

PDP should use the fund they have budget for their convention to help people at the hospitals instead of wasting it over a convention that may not hold water in the court of law.

Scrap the umbrella party and stop wasting resources on a dead party.

Pdp are just playing games with themselves as they know that nothing is at stake for the party in 2027 election

We should be expecting more dragging from the party

It will just be a jamboree, a December carol.. grin grin No serious politician with an ambition will purchase PDP nomination form going forward.. it will be as worthless as Zimbabwean dollars. grin grin

Leadership of the Party is what's at stake.
Makinde & the FCT man are fighting over who becomes the leader of the Party so as to trade properly with Tinubu for 2027.

See, the Convention will hold.

Even if PDP wants to set up a Caretaker Committee, it still has to be at the Convention. Again, their tenure ends this month so you see why I said it must hold. So Saraki is a court jester, he tried to use the NLS to stop it failed and he is beating a retreat, he should go to APC biko
Re: Stop The Convention, Set Up A Caretaker Committee by Ofunaofu: 7:40am On Nov 13, 2025
The Convention must go ahead.

The Wike and his asoebi jesters faction have schemed themselves out of it. You can’t be interested in a convention and its outcome if you didn’t take part in it.

You can’t challenge the result of a convention you didn’t participate in. Since you created your own faction, you might as well take the opportunity you’ve been longing for, decamp to the APC, the party you said is afflicted with stage four cancer

That they are fighting for the leadership of the national party shouldn't make them not to revive their constituencies that are crumbling. All the politicians can't be in Apc. Even if Pdp won't be contesting in 2027, they need to present people in other political positions

Even SDP, APGA & co are doing the same.
Political Parties are voluntary organisations...if you feel a Party will give you what you want, you move. There was a time, the ACN had only one State, if that man had your logic, he will also have moved. So leave them, let everyone go to where he thinks he stands a better chance. It's democracy in action.

You are not getting my points. The leadership of the party should let their supporters to know early which direction they are facing in 2027, that won't stop someone aspiring for state assembly members in the party not to contest. There are other positions apart from the presidency that the party should focus how to win

Which other leadership again?
You have BoT, you have NEC, you have NWC and they said everybody should go to Lekan Salami on 15th November, which other information again?

Those party organs are all fractioned. So which should the ordinary supporters listen to?

INEC just went to conduct the Ekiti Guber Primary, so who wrote to them?
PDP is one.
Any six APC members now can form a faction and call themselves Asoebi Peoples Congress and be dishing out memos, you won't say APC has factions nah. So, INEC knows the leadership of the PDP and they know themselves. It's democracy, the other people are exercising their rights to free speech.

Tambuwa's story is not different from Atiku

Wike is more like GEJ

Idehioha also stopped associating at least locally with the party

Those listed above are the relevant people left in the party that the supporters look up to. The likes of Damagun, Anyanwu are just like errand boys .

Meanwhile, where is Tonyebarcanista in all this? He has turned himself to a season political analyst.. grin cheesy
