The marriage took place in the south of Nigeria and not the north. It is statutory rape to sleep with a girl under 18 years in any southern state of Nigeria based on the Administration of criminal justice. The sharia law you are talking about is only captured under penal code as applicable only in the northern states of Nigeria.

The above notwithstanding, Ned cannot be held liable even if Regina was 17 when he married her because Regina presented herself as a 21-year-old lady to him. Her voter's card which was obtained in 2018, a year before they met and got married put her age at 21 in 2019. So, Regina is the one that should be held accountable for lying to Ned and not the other way round.

Some say Regina's date of birth is 10 Oct 2000. She got married on 26 May 2019. That means she was 18 years and 6 months old when she became Ned's wife. So, how come is she now claiming he married her at 17?

I believe Ned has not committed any crime here going by UK laws.

1. Age of consent in the UK is 16.

2. Pedophiles are individuals who are sexually attracted to prepubescent minors.

3. Regina was clearly sexually matured at the time of her marriage to Ned. So describing Ned as a pedophile is not accurate.

4. Regina was at least older than 16ys and one day on the date of her marriage to Ned which in all respects does not contravene the age of consent in the UK.
