APC Senator Prince Ned Nwoko Must Be Held Accountable for Crimes Against a Minor and Abuse of Power

The case of APC Senator Prince Ned Nwoko has gone far beyond politics. It now points to serious criminal conduct and gross abuse of power, as revealed by his now-estranged wife, Regina Daniels.

According to Regina Daniels, Senator Prince Ned Nwoko 'married' her when she was only 17 years old at a time when she was legally a minor under UK law, where Nwoko remains a registered legal practitioner. This is her passport. Ned cannot claim ignorance of her date of birth, as he travelled internationally with her using the same passport. He is in serious legal jeopardy, being a UK citizen and a licensed solicitor, the United Kingdom treats such matters with zero tolerance.

The marriage took place in the south of Nigeria and not the north. It is statutory rape to sleep with a girl under 18 years in any southern state of Nigeria based on the Administration of criminal justice. The sharia law you are talking about is only captured under penal code as applicable only in the northern states of Nigeria.

The above notwithstanding, Ned cannot be held liable even if Regina was 17 when he married her because Regina presented herself as a 21-year-old lady to him. Her voter's card which was obtained in 2018, a year before they met and got married put her age at 21 in 2019. So, Regina is the one that should be held accountable for lying to Ned and not the other way round.
