This country is like a seasonal movie, last week it was the Ned and Regina Daniels family, and this week it’s Wike and the Naval officers. This government surely knows how to keep citizens engaged and divert their attention from its failures.
No one is talking about their shortcomings anymore, the 15% VAT on petroleum, and the new VAT set to take effect in January.

A beg go sleep, what concerns any sane Nigerian about 15% VAT imposed to discourage importation of petrol and other refined products. The government know what they are doing, the West even know the outcome of all these reforms that is why they are coming with all forms of distractions like Christian genocide, insecurity etc. With time, these policies will start to yield results, 85% of the problems we encounter in this country is not with Government, is with everyday people, you and the neighbour next door. Many dont even know what is mean to be a citizen, obligations and responsibilities of a citizen. That is why we flout ruls, disobey regulations and everything goes haywire.

The northerners respect uniform men's on duty more than any region in Nigeria, they know what to do.

Please, not everyone in Nigeria is suffering, and most people on Nairaland aren’t daft or ass-lickers. Many of us also have dual citizenship in more developed countries. You can check my previous comments and see that I don’t support any politician.
However, who will pay for the additional 20%? It’s the citizens, of course. What has the government done with the money saved from the subsidy removal? Let me educate you sir, Nigerians are not benefiting from this government. Education isn’t free, there’s no access to clean water, and basic infrastructure is lacking.
In the country where I live, education is free, and you can clearly see how the government channels taxpayers’ money. But in Nigeria, they keep imposing more taxes on the citizens, yet there’s nothing to show for it.
