I grew up in a Christian family, and there was no day we didn't pray for Nigeria. Even during church services, we still prayed for Nigeria. I don't think there's any church or religious family that doesn't pray for Nigeria.

As I became an adult and independent, I considered that action folly.

If prayer works, then Nigeria should unarguably be the best country on Earth.

We all love Nigeria. Me I'm a Nigerian. I have no other country. So if we are praying for the country, it means we're praying to have good leaders, cuz it's the leaders who plot the trajectory of a country. It's the system that make up the country. One can't exist without the other.

But since praying isn't working, and has never worked, don't you think continuing to pray would amount to engaging in a fool's errand?
