Bro, you don't even need this long report by foreign observers to know that there is severe hunger in the land. Just look around. Anybody with contrary opinion is either feeding fat from the government. No more, no less! Hezzyluv: |

Please don't spread fake news about the Nigerian economy. Our president is in charge of the economy while the vice president is taking care of the security. So, there is no hunger in the land.

helinues:Sometimes when you guys talk I wonder if you have memory loss or the average Nigerian is just insensitive. Prices come down to how much? Rice went from N18,000 to N100,000 and came down to N70,000 you said prices have been coming down. At N70,000 how many people can afford it? Is it the security man you pay N50k a month? Is it with this high cost of living? If someone earns 100k a month, after deducting transportation which is also high, what is left to buy rice at N70,000? After rice shey dem no go buy tomato? Food is still beyond the reach of the average Nigerian even with a minimum wage of N80,000 and it has to be addressed. Because God blessed you to be better off and food prices reduced by a marginal difference doesn’t mean things are back to normal. Put yourself in the shoes of the guy you drive pass everyday on the street hustling. |

The hunger is now unbearable to me. My eyes are gone due to excessive intake of Garri. I drink Garri twice everyday, in the last two weeks or so. |

The thing with "World" bodies like the WEF and FAO is that they cannot be totally trusted with the information they share. Global bodies sprinkle lies in truths. They take advantage of an unfortunate situation - like this hunger thing now, to further some agendas only God knows what it is. Someone mentioned GMO. So, our government need to be very careful what they do with these people. My 10kobo advice. |

If the naira is not appreciated and strengthen against the dollars and naira does not have value and if the price of fuel and diesel is not reduced to a minimum level... The price of foodstuffs cannot reduce and come down and be affordable for Nigerians to buy |
| Re: UN Food Agencies Raise Alarm Over High Spate Of Hunger In Nigeria by nairalanda1(m): 12:09pm On Nov 14, 2025 |
system21:I don't like apc, but am old enough to remember that this system was not feeding Nigeria at all. The problem has been there for decades. Our farmers cannot feed the entire nation for a host of reasons. A good example why is road transport. Because roads in rural areas are bad, evacuating food to market no easy. That's why dangote was exploring building a tomato plant in his home state for example Also subsistence farming can only go as far as x. Meanwhile USA has less than 5% of its population into farming and can feed and even produce surpluses. Naija has over 70 % in farming, less than 10% are what we call industrial farms Back to security, if most of our farming had been mechanized, we would have been able to feed ourselves inspite of boko and bandits. |
| Re: UN Food Agencies Raise Alarm Over High Spate Of Hunger In Nigeria by Evaloyal2J(f): 12:30pm On Nov 14, 2025 |
nairalanda1:where are they going to practice this subsistence farming I have hearing about since 1990s? In idp camps? The ones who abandoned their homes and farmlands running after their lives? The place where bandits collect taxes and ransom before they can go to farm? Just where are they going to practice this kind of farming that would salvage the mess brought about by insecurity? |
| Re: UN Food Agencies Raise Alarm Over High Spate Of Hunger In Nigeria by nairalanda1(m): 12:31pm On Nov 14, 2025 |
Evaloyal2J:Even if there was peace, subsitence farming cannot feed nigeria. Not when nigeria has been importing food for decades. The thing is, we got to get more mechanized large scale farms, so that we won;'t be harmed |
