I randomly remembered

6th semester done. 95 credits (30 more to go). 4.0/4.0

All A’s. I'm currently interning at a Fortune 10 and my chances of getting a full-time return offer grow. I won 3 scholarships and I'm on permanent full ride and I get a large refund too.

My school accepted me for the accelerated msc so I get my master's approximately two years from today. BSc and Masters in five years in electrical and computer engineering

Thank you big Macky.
please bro give me the link for the scholarships so that I can be applying as well

Hi!

Applied for the Spring 2025 to University of Colorado Boulder as a transfer applicant using my 100Level transcript. My CGPA is 3.62.
On my secondary school transcript there was no gpa but scored As few Bs and few Cs so the person doing the application for me decided to put 88/100 where GPA was required without calculating, will this be an issue? Will it mar my chances of securing admission?

Also, they demanded for Academic history and I uploaded transcript and NECO instead. I want to know if this will be an issue.

Thank you.

How do you pull out GPA from the air? You could have used Wes igpa free calculator or Scholaro

Hello. Your wife must be finish her program as a registered nurse in Nigeria and work for at least one year before she can migrate to USA. She can work as a nurse in the USA but the process takes about 1 to 2.5 years. My wife was also a nurse in Nigeria before we migrated to the USA. I was studying on FI and she was on F2 visa. We adjusted our status to green card holder while I am still studying. Any bonafide nurse from Nigeria can migrate and work in the USA as a registered nurse. She would need to evaluate her credential with CGFNS and take the Nclex exam. Then, look for an agency or hospital to sponsor her adjustment of status and green card. If you need more clarification, let me know.
Please how can I contact you sir

Big man, I'm not trying to sound condescending o. No V.O would grant your visa as a 34 year old going for undergrad. The best route is to come to this country through graduate schould, preferably a PhD program or post doc considering your age. Thats why I always advise people to never back down on doing their first masters degree in Nigeria. When you get to this country, you can decide to do undergrad as you wish. in fact, you can do whatever you like as soon as you enter US.

Horllar1990:
Good day sir,

I need your opinion. I've noticed that those relocating to USA are mostly graduate students on scholarship and I've not heard or seen a video on YouTube advertising to those who wants to relocate via undergraduate study.
I wanna ask, can someone apply for undergraduate study and get a scholarship too and what's the age limit.
Can a 34 year old apply for undergraduate despite having OND certificate..

Hey Guys.

Long time no see. I am in my final semester graduating this May with a 4.0 in electrical and computer engineering double major I have gotten 3 full-time roles on the East Coast and in Silicon Valley. The pay ranges from 85k to 135k. I am thinking of convincing at least one of them to defer till next year so I can complete my master's. I have also used my last few electives to knock out the pre-med classes I was taking (long story lol)

but yeah it is been good but we're on the grind. smiley

Almost natural progression for your typical immigrant. Looks like you got there pretty fast though. Firstly, desirous of any element of a good life and willing to sacrifice anything for it, including getting into immigration troubles, voting democrats, etc. Once they attain the lifestyle they have so longed for, they start to see everything wrong with where they were coming from. Sooner, they start to vote Republicans.
You find them everywhere, including in Canada where they come in through immigration and then, years later, start voting against immigration!
This statement is words on marble. So prophetic, especially with what we are seeing today.

Wow… how time flies, I remember years ago, I discovered this thread and it sparked a dream in me, before coming here I have never imagined that I will be stepping my foot in the US one day.I must have come back over and over to read this thread and taking notes even though life circumstances made it look impossible that this dream that has been sparked can become reality. How can considering my background. But little by little plans were put into motion and what seems impossible years ago starts looking possible and finally this fall 2025 I resumed for my masters program in industrial engineering in a top university in the US. Thanks a lot for this thread MackyNaija and God will continually bless you, it gave me the greatest thing any human needed which is Hope for a better day.. It’s the beginning of another journey and let’s see where it takes me.
Paccus:
Thanks for sharing your experience Here.. I believe I will still come back to share my testimony on this thread.. Goodluck Sir

what is the use of the Masters if not to land a juicy offer like you just got. Please defer education and go for one of those offers. Haba! These offers are too good to let go because of Masters

Ah, so it’s less than 1 month to the end of the first semester..

Anybody wey talk say American school dey easy na lie ooo.. you will work for every mark. Assignment every week at the end, everything will just be about 20% of total grade.. When Timiofak and MackyNaija just dey knack 4.0 i been think say na so e easy..

for my school for instance A is 93% if you score 90%to 92% Na A- which is about 3.67 grade and that 93% no easy you have to do very well in almost everything tests, assignments and project there is little chance for error.. for school here it seems the work necessary to climb every grade is so steep.. its not difficult to get a B but to climb from B to B+ to A- to A or the Oga kpata kpata A+ (97% and above) na battle..

Also, I been dey hear say American schools na obj be exam before I come here, na better theory or subjective for all the exams so far and na answer everything oo. No be answer 4 out of 5 we been dey do for school then but we still dey put in the work sha

The great thing is there teaching style helps you to retain information, you will know the materials very well and understand the things you are being taught so even before you start preparing for your exams, you already feel prepared. It’s been an interesting few months

Sorry, I don’t want to dox myself so I won’t put the school up.. the program is industrial engineering.. but when searching for schools.. I was looking for a top 50 ranking in general, top 30 in engineering and top 20 in industrial engineering.. although I made some little adjustments in this criteria if I like other things about the school like how regarded they are in their state but it is never far off from those criterias. Overall I got admitted to the following schools

Georgia Tech- Masters in supply chain engineering
my school~ Masters industrial engineering
University of Florida ~ MSc industrial engineering
NC a&t university ~ MSc industrial engineering( This was my safe choice so i didn’t follow my criteria just followed other criterias)
Rejected:
Texas A&M university college station
Virginia Tech
