Muslims Were First Victims Of Boko Haram In Nigeria - Mahmoud Youssouf, AU Chair by Racoon(op): 12:19pm On Nov 14, 2025
Mahmoud Youssouf, chairperson of the African Union (AU) Commission, says there are no targeted Christian killings in northern Nigeria. Speaking with reporters at the United Nations in New York, Youssouf said the complexity of the security situation in northern Nigeria cannot be described as Christian genocide.

Youssouf said the first victims of Boko Haram insurgents in Nigeria were Muslims and not Christians. “The first victims of Boko Haram are Muslims, not Christians. And I’m saying it with documented references,” he said.

“The complexity of northern part of Nigeria should not be taken that easily. So what we are saying to those statements (Christian genocide claims) is that the African continent is very complex.

“It is not that easy to describe these situations with such very easy words that can be used in not reasonable way.

“That is why the AU commission is very clear about that. We have made it clear in our statement and communique and we would like to stress again that there is no genocide in northern Nigeria.”

BACKGROUND
Recently, claims of Christian genocide in Nigeria have been peddled on conventional and social media, especially by some high-profile political personalities in the United States.

Following the claims, some US lawmakers asked Marco Rubio, secretary of state, to immediately take decisive diplomatic action against the Nigerian government over the “systematic persecution and slaughter of Christians” in the country.

Subsequently, US President Donald Trump labelled Nigeria a “country of particular concern (CPC)” over claims of Christian persecution in the West African country.

The US leader also warned the Nigerian government to “better move fast” or he would make good his threat to stop all US aid and assistance to the country. He also threatened to unleash the department of war on Nigeria to fight the terrorists “that attack our cherished Christians”.

The Nigerian government has repeatedly rejected the claims of Christian persecution.
However, the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has insisted that Christian communities have repeatedly suffered brutal attacks.

... And then CHRISTIANS became subsequent targets. The AU chairman is a Muslim, So I'm not surprised that he's downplaying the obvious - Which is the fact that there's a Christian genocide going on. undecided

Nobody is holding the Muslims not to voice out in Nigeria.
If the Muslims are being killed then let them come out and protest against the killing so that the world can also hear them.

Christians are being killed, they voiced out and even presented evidence.

The government also shot themselves on the foot by presenting Muslim-Muslim ticket.
Infact, only this M-M ticket shows Christians has been and will always be the target.

BH that started by targeting Christian communities( Chibok, Hong, Song, Michika, Gwoza, Gombi etc ) bombing churches and kidnapping and killing Christians?

Of course, the doctrine of taqqiya is allowed as part of the the tenets of the devilish religion. Seeing the truth but overtly denying it @ all cost.

Lies, Christians were the first victims and targets.

I remember when Igbos were target of Boko Haram terrorist.

One of my uncles Came back then because of it,he told us how , some youths from the towns lead Boko Haram House to house of Igbos because they are known Christians in Nigeria.

In one of the incidents, after those bad boys killed Igbo man at his house, Igbos around there gathered to plan how to send his corpse to his family in East, the Boko Haram terrorists invaded the meeting and massacred everyone.

My uncle left North because they were going to house and shop of Igbos killing them.
It was no more random Killing.

It was later they started killing even northern Christians and Muslims.

That my uncle is doing well for himself in East now,he had to change line of business, and I was the one he was under to learned it.

At that time he run leave his business in North,he handed everything over to a northern sale girl, but later close down the business.

Whether 1st or 2nd is totally irrelevant

What matters is that Christianity is suffering severe persecutiions in the North in the hands of Islamic Extremist, and if the trend is not stopped, the entire region will soon become Islamised with Christians totally wiped out.

If this is not genocide against Christians, then you definitely don't know the meaning of genocide.

The genocides is too much in this country.
Terrorist in north, unknown gunmen in the south.

Our focus should be, what are the measures put in place by the government to stop these genocide.
