You know that is the truth

In Igbo land it is Abomination if your children don't have at least WEAC or NECO certificate

Anyone with WEAC or NECO can at least read and write
Just wondering the education should have fetched them something better than that!

Literacy is not about only English. It's ability of a person to be able to read, write or understand at least a language. Be it Yoruba, Hausa, Igbo, English, Arabic etc

Igbos and Yorubas should have almost same literacy rate in this regard.

And some "my mama said I be igbo" gals in lagos allowed themselves to be bamboozled into starting a warped anti "igno patriarchy" revolt few weeks ago.

We send them to the best universities in the world from a country where some men don't even allow their women to walk freely outside, yet we are made the vallian..

The way they were going, you would think they were enduring apartheid. One wanted plots of lands at his father's ancestral kindred! Maybe the men should go and get their plots from their wives home..
She can’t get plots in her husband side, she can’t get in her father’s side. Where will she get?

That’s like saying Yoruba are Ibadan and Osun people. Ibibio is Ibibio from Akwa Ibom but they are first Ibibio

Most of these statistics are almost inaccurate. He should do meticulous research before coming out with subjective results even it is not 100% true

Edo should come before Ibibio.
It should have been
Igbo
Yoruba
Edo
Ibibo

Yoruba Muslims must have been the caused for the girl child educational decline due to imbibing the Sharia culture.

Hausa girls don't go to schools, if they are allowed massive and quality education, they won't marry half baked Hausa men..

I love my female children more than the men even if it's the men that will inherit the lion shares of my properties.

Give your daughters the best if educations they are more passionate about the family in the days when strange women steal the hearts of some men.

So Igbos and Ibibios (95%+ Christians) garnering way over 50% is in order. What I am surprised by is how Igbo women are the ones who champion feminism online, but Ibibio women aren't doing the same.

Adichie is unique and special... She is a class on her own.

If your women are becoming "badly behaved" or rebellious, then maybe something might be wrong within your cultures with regards to how they are treated.

Whether you like it or not, female gender educational advancement is a global phenomenon, and will continue!

Adopting patriarchy and misogyny just because ladies are breaking ceilings in all fields is just amusing. grin

While your boys and young men are busy stealing, smoking weed and dust, sexing everything around, laundering drugs, and other useless vices, girls are toeing the path of class, erudition, learning and career development.

Look around you. Ladies are practically taking over while your males fool around in mediocrity.

That’s what it should be. But I’m aware that in the east, the husband’s family may swoop in if he’s dead. Worse if he dies without children

Did u notice that the Igbo women not inheritance of property doesn't mean the parents if the ladies dnt give them the best in life...

The idea is that they also inherited same through their husbands ND their husbands sisters goes out to also inherit through her husband too...

This making them not to also lack..

But before all that death of parents and inheritance issue, both their siblings and parents take very good care of them

Should.
But what about the fact that at least 40 percent of the Yoruba population are Muslim?. We all know what that means for women.
