The Yoruba remain the most educated people, in both the male and female categories, in Nigeria. Anyone who thinks they are competing with them is only doing so in their own mind!
Re: Literacy Rates Of Nigerian Women By Tribe by Nchenches: 4:07pm On Nov 14, 2025
Igbo women are more literate, perhaps, more educated, than Igbo men.
Re: Literacy Rates Of Nigerian Women By Tribe by ariesbull: 4:13pm On Nov 14, 2025
LoL... They said that Yoruba are the most educated...but I live in Lagos and many people thateet me to help them fill forms and tellers in bank are mostly Yoruba

Exactly ! Just like saying Yoruba cities are the most developed in Nigeria ...

Igbo men are less educated compared to Igbo women. The worst politicians are Igbo men.
For example, Igbo politicians do siddon de look Arewa and Yaribawa politicians. If not for Middle belt people who cried out to the Americans over Christians genocide, Igbos would have remained mum.

Proud of my tribal women ibibio. I know that we'll be here. Proud of my second home, Igbo, despite them leading, but I have to hype my tribe Ibibio first first.
Igbo and their Ibibio cousins and neighbours with lots of similarities

Nothing surprising. Christianity supports or leans towards Western culture and education. So Igbos and Ibibios (95%+ Christians) garnering way over 50% is in order. What I am surprised by is how Igbo women are the ones who champion feminism online, but Ibibio women aren't doing the same.
Igbo women are noisy a bit.... But a bit opinionated and forward

She can’t get plots in her husband side, she can’t get in her father’s side. Where will she get?
I never said she is not entitled to land/property in her husbands place. She is and the cultural practice on that is very clear..

She should criw In her husbands place. Her husbands property is hers too. She should stay in her marriage and make it work and stop running back to her papa house at the slightest quarrel.

Ancestral lands are for those who will stay at home. If the father has landed properties elsewhere, she is entitled to that. But we are not going to drag the "Obi" with any lady that wants to prove that what a man can do a woman can do badly..

Thank you for your attention to this message!

I think it is cultural - freedom. Igbos generally have this indomitable feature of being free to say and do whatever they like. Many ethnic groups have limitations to: how, when, what and where one says or does something.

Middle Belters are the most affected, so why should others push it for them? Already, APC lots are blaming Igbos for the expose. In Nigeria, it is dangerous for an Igbo person to have a say on certain national topics. So, allow the affected parties to air their grievances. The next thing we would read is that Igbos want to take over their lands. As far as I am concerned, after the Civil War, Igbos should stay off national issues unless they directly affect us.

I honestly thought Yoruba women are the most educated with all those universities in SW....but now that I thought of it, there are too many uneducated women in the slums.

My heart goes out to the hausa women who have been made subservient to their male counterparts. Everybody go dey alright last last.

Is it for me to disprove or for the people to back up their claims with facts?
If you make.a claim, it's incumbent on you to back it up with variable facts.
Is like me asking you to prove that your IQ is not lower than 72.

And some "my mama said I be igbo" gals in lagos allowed themselves to be bamboozled into starting a warped anti "igbo patriarchy" revolt few weeks ago.

We send them to the best universities in the world from a country where some men don't even allow their women to walk freely outside, yet we are made the vallian..

The way they were going, you would think they were enduring apartheid. One wanted plots of lands at his father's ancestral kindred! Maybe the men should go and get their plots from their wives home..
Deceptive comparison. The correct comparison is: THEIR WIVES should inherit from her parents. That is what is FAIR!
Stop supporting injustice simply because it favors you!

For Igbo the largest or second largest ethnic group in Nigeria to "stay off national issues" is like placing a stumbling block on the development process of Nigeria.

Igbos cannot keep off national issues but they should prune down their negativities. They love, due to their behaviour and utterances, that Nigeria be in turmoil.
