Most likely scenario - confirms she was a willing participant, and states that no coercion occurred, if anything, she may indicate she initiated more of it. She may also mention her existing plans to resign and how that was part of how the situation was being managed.

The guy is also questioned - He admits to the misconduct, apologizes, and his account aligns with hers. The disciplinary committee reviews the findings and issues a proportionate sanction - likely a formal warning, mandatory ethics training, withheld bonuses, docked pay, and/or a temporary suspension. The worst-case outcome is termination, though I think is unlikely. It's still a private company as far as we all know

The point of all the above is that it becomes documented and the company protect itself against any future liabilities given how it's been handled and they followed the proper channel of addressing the concern while giving him a controlled, soft landing, Win - Win for everyone. Of course, that'll be in the event that she's the only one.

Stripe would not be able to make him a bad leaver based on Tweets he made before the deal so this is a straightforward investigation where an employee must come forward to make a claim that he abused her. So far none has done so, only unrelated 3rd parties. If Stripe want to go ahead and exit him for their image, it's a win for him as he gets accelerated vesting without having to work for it.

Interestingly most vesting period of acquisitions of these type are 5 years - at least that's what it used to be with founders inclusive of the cliff.

Paystack was fully acquired by Stripe in October/November 2020, which may likely mean he's due and he may just step away without any serious consequences.

Anyway, I hope he's learned his lessons if this wasnt enough

Most likely they will exit him based on the depravity of his tweets. They will find him not guilty of the specific (and limited) accusation which affects their staff only, then ask him to resign with all his good leaver benefits intact. This protects the companies image while shielding them from open ended litigations from what he may have possibly done that they don't have sight of.

I have seen this situation before where a top VP got drunk and went wild during Christmas party and started making lewd suggestions to females of what he wants to do to them in the most graphic terms. Another VP quickly stepped in the next day to protect the company by gathering the 2 females who were intent on reporting and asked them to let her take it to the President and let the President handle it in his own manner. The end result was that we got an email a few weeks later stating that the erring VP would be leaving in 6 months to "pursue further studies". I am like what is this old man going back to school for? . The reality is he was VP of Construction and was handling several 9 figure construction projects at the time and the President had to be given the grace to ensure continuity of those projects by working on his replacement and getting others to pick up the supplier relationships.

As for this Paystack case, I feel sorry for the subordinate who was possibly doxxed as wanting to accuse him (though she would never muster the courage). This development is intended to flush her out to make her accusations or forever hold her peace. Cos if you don't talk during investigation, any future talks will be seen as spurious. However if I'm to advise her, I would advise her to make the allegation (only internally) and negotiate her way out of it with a payoff. If she does not keep it internal, she would lose her leverage and force the company into a defensive posture. You must always give companies the possibility to pay you out to prevent external damage, while maintaining the implied threat that it could go external.
