Why We Ventured into Biscuit Business — Oraeto, Fadaella Foods Boss

Chairman of the Searite Group, Chief Chibuzor Oraeto, has explained that his company’s move into the biscuit industry was inspired by multi-dimensional love, especially his love for children, for quality, and for the kind of innovation that brings joy and nourishment to homes.

Speaking in a telephone interview to mark his birthday, the businessman said that after years of success in mining, real estate, and shipping sectors, he felt drawn to the food sector, particularly to biscuit production, as a way of connecting more closely with families and giving back to society in a meaningful way.

According to him, the idea came from a place of affection for children. The new biscuit line, he said, was born out of the desire to produce something delightful and wholesome for young ones to enjoy. The brand name, Fadaella, he revealed, is a blend of his children’s names, which he described as a reflection of the family values and emotional connection behind the business.

Chief Oraeto, who has travelled to more than 40 countries, said his global exposure inspired his insistence on quality and international standards in all his ventures. He noted that the Searite Group’s previous products, such as their oatmilk brand created in partnership with his in-laws in China, achieved very great success and recognition, paving the way for other products like lollipops and Fadaella Best Chocs.

Encouraged by the positive response from consumers, he disclosed that the company is now expanding its product range to include crackers and other biscuit varieties, designed to meet both the nutritional and taste needs of Nigerians.

Looking beyond production, Chief Oraeto also announced plans to establish a modern biscuit factory in Anambra State. He said a large expanse of land has already been acquired for the project, which will kick-off soon. The factory, he added, would not only create jobs for Anambra youths but also strengthen local manufacturing capacity and contribute to the State’s economic growth.

Given Chief Oraeto’s diversification moves and his outstanding record of innovation and enterprise, an assessment by this reporter reveals that the Searite Group's vision goes beyond profit-making to nation-building, as well as using entrepreneurship to create value, empower humanity, and promote Nigerian excellence, both locally and on the global stage.

Better to just face your importation of your biscuits and avoid naija problem, that is was what a late seasoned businessman once said, someone that had done mechanized farming, owned several factories, provided hundreds and thousands of jobs. At the end he said the wahala was not worth it. Just import sell, take your money and do it again, less stress than running factory where all sorts of government agencies will bring you unreasonable bills, you will run generators, provide you water, pay crazy electricity bills, to crown it the wahala of nigeria workers trying to scam you at every opportunity. Those that will sabotage machines s assigned to then in the factories so they can sleep while the machine is being fixed, your rmaintanance people that will chook machines with spanner so you will send it for repairs, buy" imaginary" expensive parts, meanwhile nothing wrong with the equipment.
Abeg just buy and sell if you want peace of mind.

You are so correct.
It's those that haven't ventured that won't know.
Some companies, especially small and medium scale use all their revenue(not profit o,but sales in total) to pay electricity and power their generators.
Sometimes I just look at people like this and ask if truly these businessmen are making profit from these busineses or it's just a front for other kinds of businesses or the buying and selling they do.

I pray it survives the toxic Nigerian market and that government policies don't kill it off as it has done to others before it.
