Pastor Tunde Bakare: “ Pastor Adeboye told me to be paying the full salary of my wife when she resigned from her bank job without telling me”

“ When my wife told me she had resigned, I drove to my father-in -law’s house to report her but he told me that nothing concerns him with our marriage.

“I then drove straight to Redemption Camp to report her to Pastor Adeboye. I told him how my wife just resigned from her bank job without telling me and that I just started my chambers and we were just making it little by little and her salary would help us augment whatever I gave her.

“Pastor Adeboye’s response shocked me. He said, “ Wow,she did that on her own! Don’t u think that’s a great thing to do? She did it to focus attention on your child. If all women would do that Nigeria would be a better place. He then told me that apart from house allowance, I must be paying her the salary she earned at the bank since she resigned to start working in my house and taking care of the children.”

“I wasn’t happy with the counsel because I was scared of how I would cope as the sole breadwinner of the house. The Holy Spirit then took me to Isaiah 54:5 and showed me a Scripture I will never forget,” I,the Lord your God,your maker, I am your husband. The Holy Spirit then said if I am your husband, treat your wife the way you want me to treat you! “

“I was sober and I prayed.The next month instead of giving her 375 Naira, her salary in the bank, I gave her 500 Naira and I also gave another 500 Naira for house allowance. It has grown since then!”

But a woman must discuss with the husband before resigning her job.

But men should not make it a habit of running to pastors & any 3rd party to solve their family problems.

You can't relate. I once resigned from banking job. I myself didn't envisaged re-signing while leaving house that day. Came home that night, told my wife, I have resigned.

As a man you must have control over your wife, if she does display behaviour like this, punishing her is the right thing to do. Your wife must submit her all to you, you are the master of your home, stop running to third parties. Handle your business as a man

Yeah! Way of life that's based on seizing opportunities to exploit others!

These great men of God have paid their dues. Their stories are from grass to grace. From Adeboye to Oyedepo to kumuyi. They all had humble backgrounds.

I was at Adeboye's village in ifewara, Osun state last week, and I marveled that It was indeed God that brought him out of that village.

You are always advised not to take critical decisions when you are emotional; ie when angry, frustrated, exhausted etc.
So it is wise to return home 1st, critically reflect on the decision & possiblly with your spouse, before acting.

Bakare was a radical Islamist. Considering that Oyedepo has a similar background, it is only natural they'll be sworn enemies.

Nothing concern cleric with another's marriage! It's part of the husband's responsibility to cater to the needs of his wife and other dependant as much as he's capable!

Money, the only language women (and pastors) understand. Any other thing is distraction to them.

If it is today, the story won't be the same. Nobody will advise a man to be paying his wife her salary because she resigns unless the husband is a multimillionaire. Now everybody must work, husband o, wife o, even the children once they reach 18 years, must start to learn work. To survive in Nigeria now no be beans.

Bakare's fallout with Oyedepo is rooted in biblical principles. Oyedepo wrote a book about the SACREDNESS of the anointing oil which Bakare faulted publicly. Bakare is also against some of the practices of Oyedepo such as feet washing. excessive tithing to avoid the vicissitudes of life.

Don't be quick to conclude on people's life. A sinner today may be a saint tomorrow. The most important is don't be a gullible tool to be exploited.
