The players messed up by not securing automatic qualification but this playoff could be a blessing in disguise.

There's improvement in the team and I believe they would gel more as they continue playing together.

I belief in this present squad. They'll sail through to the WC. The commitment and determination is commendable. Unfortunately we easily talk more of negative than positives. No one is praising the coaching team for successfully deploying recent top performers like Benjamin Fredrick, Ejuke, Akor, Bassey and Osimhen.
For me E. Chelle has done well so far. Don't forget that twas previous mediocre coaches who put us in the mess due to nepotism and personal ego.
We should learn to praise as at when due.

Just two matches. If we defeat DR Congo, then we have automatically qualified for the continental final due to our high FIFA ranking compared to other teams that had qualified.
All these stress should have been avoided had it been we faced all our matches squarely.
I also noticed that the boys have not learnt their lessons, especially that goalkeeper 😳 and our attackers.
The game against Gabon should have been settled in the 1st half, but our boys chose to drag it to extra time.

Not totally true. We may not be the highest ranking team by that time. Our ranking may have dropped by then

Africa dey play qualifiers up and down with 4/5 qualified team, while Europe alone has up to ten spot for the country

Based on the current FIFA ranking, it would be hard for any of the play off teams to overtake Nigeria in the next FIFA ranking. Which means Nigeria has a high chance of playing just one match in the inter-continental play-off if we can defeat DR Congo on Sunday

If we win this African playoffs, and for us to be up there in the ranking, let's organize simple friendly matches that we can win easily.

The competition is still far off - Match 2026. By then, the other teams may do well and surpass us in the rankings.

Anyways, thank God for the AFCON. I hope we do well.
