He is not going anywhere. When people want to work for this country, some of you will do everything to frustrate them. Same thing is happening with terrorism. If someone like Wike was the President, perhaps we would have uncovered those preventing the fight against terrorism. It is the same playbook used in Yerima's case.

Land

Land administration in Nigeria is primarily governed by the Land Use Act. Section 1 of the Act vests all land in each state in the Governor, to be held in trust for the people, except land vested in the Federal Government or its agencies. In the case of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), these powers are exercisable by the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

If I were Wike
I would have made sure all the fault falls on the officer but his garrulous and loquacious nature messed him up…you think the officer did not know well not to respond Wike without saying “sir” he was deliberately provoking him to keep talking.

Now let us look at it from the human angle
Why would his security details (Wike) not think it through that the confrontation would have led to a bloodbath?

There are issues that can be settled without aggression and this is one of them because Wike might not be in power tomorrow and the same land he is fighting for will be returned to the owner without stress.

Don’t mind them, this Nairaland is full of toxic minded people, a reflection of the general society @ large.

And the irony is that the land in question is government land that was leased to the initial company that sold the land to the Admiral, not a family owned land.

Government that leased the land has said the land in question is for public purposes, not private use for commercial or residential purposes, yet some people in their ignorance of the provisions of The Land Use Act are supporting the military man just because of their hatred for Wike.

An issue the admiral can never prevail in.
