Gattusso is a laggard. Europe has 16 Teams to qualify for world cup and you are not able to qualify, then you are blaming Africa. I can';t understand that. If you cannot qualify your team, please resign and take a bow, or you want to come and try your qualification in Africa. May I also tell you that with the recent forms of teams that qualified directly in the groups from Africa, there no way Italy would have qualified if they play in any of the groups. I have watched your team and they are not quite good. Please go back to drawing board and start early preparatiion for 2030.

There was a time when Europe alone had 16 slots in the world cup, that's about half of the participating slots. Now with other continents getting more slots, slots of European countries are automatically reduced. That's what Gatusso is crying about. It's not our fault that his country is about to miss out on the 3rd world cup in a row.

He could ask for more slots, or perform better, instead of attacking Africa...imagine Italy losing to North Macedonia...and they certainly won't beat Norway 9-0 so they can kiss 2026 tournament goodbye

Morocco is not an African country same way Turkey is not Europe.

How many times will naive Nigerians need to be reminded North Africa is essentially Arab and belong to the Arab world. Geographically sitting in Africa doesn't make them Africa and the world doesn't see them so.

The last major works cup, Morocco made it public thru are representing Arab world and the world works knows it except of course Nigerians.

Africa is sub Sahara and there's a reason for that word.

If Egypt
Algeria
Tunisia
Lybia
Morocco win the world cup, it will be almost humiliation of any sub Sahara Africa claims it as African.

That's the beauty of it all. Cape Verde vs Argentina. They'll get walloped? You never know. A debuting team Senegal shocked world champions France. it is just like those advocating for a super league. The world cup is a festival and everybody should be involved..then a again it offers career progress for some of these guys from smaller teams. Some football players got their breakthrough from a decent world cup showing. At the end of the day, with all the big, small, European or African nations only ONE team will win it. Racism Asides, gattusso's argument is flawed.

The number of participating countries have increased, maybe he expected Europe to get more slots with the expansion. He should prepare his team very well for the playoffs, Europe alone has 2 playoff slots while the rest of the world have to share 2. They still have the upper hand

Not only that, help me inform this racist that Africa is the only continent in FIFA that has 54 members, I mean 54 votes on whom becomes President of FIFA and where the World Cup should hold.
Just imagine if Africans are united in their votes at FIFA.
If he wants to increase European slots at the world cup - he should be asking FIFA how come the United Kingdom in Europe has 4 members associations namely, Wales, England, Scotland and N.Ireland.

The way to test your theory
have a tournament with an equal number
maybe 6
of countries from Each zone,
equal number of linesmen from each zone
equal number of referees from each zone
Do that over 4 world cup cycles

Alternatively let qualification not be based on continents

Let European countries play against Africans to qualify so there is no continental quota

Of course there will be questions about where to play
There will be a solution
