People cannot just accuse others just because of the assumptions they created in their own head. Except some facts or statements have been left out from the news, Gattuso merely alluded to the fact that Europe needed more slots and drew attention to the fact that Africa that used to have 3 slots, now have 9. It takes people with delusional brain to assume and imply un-existing facts not stated , as actual facts.

How many African countries have reached the semi-finals in the World Cup? It is food for thought.

Africa needs to do better. I almost supported him until I counted the number of countries worthy to be in the World Cup and they are Egypt, Algeria, Morrocco, Senegal, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Nigeria, Cameroon, and South Africa. These are 9 countries.

Nevertheless, Africa needs to do better, like reaching the semi-finals.

From what I read here what he meant was that European country should have rules that ensures more teams that are much better than African, Oceanic teams to qualify for the world cup so not that fewer teams from Africa or America but European countries should not be sacrificed to allow other continent to participate.

Let's be honest, would any of the African countries that had qualified for the cup beat Italy in the same qualifier or did they play against teams of similar qualities?

This is not racism to me but talk against mediocrity in world cup tournament.

Maybe more teams needs to be allowed to qualify from Europe without reducing the number of teams from other continents would be good for the world cup and football fans.

Whenever you see news like this, don't read headlines. The role of a headline is to get you emotionally glued in which it did with the not so false narrative.

If you read what he said, he pointed out to the fact that the slots for Africans have increased from 3 to 9 and at the same time, a team with 6 wins (Italy) is not assured playoff.

While the headline seem to align with his analysis, he didn't say it outrightly but rather implied terms. Other resolution will be for all the 2nd placed teams to play a set of play offs to pick a few of them and add to the list going for the world cup.

Headlines can be misleading.
