Zenzu01:Based on quality of EUFA teams, they do deserve it.... Like I earlier said, Italy that is in danger of not qualifying can comfortably beat most countries that qualified in other Federations. |

Why e come be like this world Cup qualifiers and its calculations dey more complicated pass the previous ones na? |
| Re: Teams That Have Qualified For World Cup So Far by Reference(m): 7:44am On Nov 16, 2025 |
Cajal:I don't think so. There are better teams out there. Football is witnessing an explosion in talent coming through across the game making the Spanish team look average. You can see it in club football. Spanish teams no longer dominate the way they did just three and four seasons ago. |
| Re: Teams That Have Qualified For World Cup So Far by GanagiBitrus: 7:44am On Nov 16, 2025 |
cathodekazim:I'm only being objective. You are the one biased in favour of Africa. Why are all continents not given equal slots? Quality is a consideration. You can't deny the fact that Italy is a bigger football nation than most countries that qualified from other Federations. You that is talking, do you watch Nigerian league or any other league aside leagues from Europe? Point is, if extra 16 slots were added, EUFA deserved some more. |
| Re: Teams That Have Qualified For World Cup So Far by Zenzu01(m): 7:45am On Nov 16, 2025 |
GanagiBitrus:Just as someone highlighted, it's actually a world cup tournament and not just for European nations. Teams from other continents need a high number of representation too. Italy is technically the best team in their group in terms of squad depth and quality. If they can't get past Norway to qualify, it's on them. The same Italy team has also missed out on previous world cup tournaments even when European competitions had more slot. Mind you, the slots were not increased to accommodate only Italy |
| Re: Teams That Have Qualified For World Cup So Far by Reference(m): 7:46am On Nov 16, 2025 |
Iceberg3:Their qualifiers are still ongoing. They started a bit later than other federations. By the close of play today a lot more names will be added....the usual customers. |
| Re: Teams That Have Qualified For World Cup So Far by GanagiBitrus: 7:49am On Nov 16, 2025 |
Zenzu01:They deserve it more because there are more great football nations in EUFA. You that is talking, do you watch Nigerian league or any other league aside leagues from Europe? |
| Re: Teams That Have Qualified For World Cup So Far by tayepop(m): 7:51am On Nov 16, 2025 |
dominique:Europe was formerly 13, now 16 slots. Get your facts right. |
| Re: Teams That Have Qualified For World Cup So Far by Reference(m): 7:52am On Nov 16, 2025 |
Zenzu01:Hmmm....this Norway that hasn't dropped a point and is banging in goals like crazy.... Don't put your money on Italy. Football has certainly left that country. Their failure to develop the youth game, their failure to attract foreign talent both to clubsides and the national team in players and coaching is biting back. We all see Italy for it's history in the game, the world cups won (by mistakes.... ) but the game in that country has gone peer shaped. With all due respect. Is it a certain Gatusso that will win a world cup. Haba nau. |
| Re: Teams That Have Qualified For World Cup So Far by Teymanhenry(f): 7:53am On Nov 16, 2025 |
If they want to make it a fair tournament, each Continent should be granted same number of slots. It's called a world cup after all. Europe have an advantage because of the number of representation it has |
| Re: Teams That Have Qualified For World Cup So Far by usibengate(m): 7:54am On Nov 16, 2025 |
Guys think very well. Remember this world cup is hosted by 3 countries which are Canada, USA and Mexico. Probably when one country host next time, a slot or more might get to Europe. |
| Re: Teams That Have Qualified For World Cup So Far by obax321(m): 7:55am On Nov 16, 2025 |
Europe has 1/3 of the slots already. It's the World Cup not an European Cup! dominique: |
| Re: Teams That Have Qualified For World Cup So Far by TallNigerian: 7:55am On Nov 16, 2025 |
GanagiBitrus:If they were that good, they would have been the only one to qualify, suffice to say they are not that good then. One team qualified from each group. Second runners-up will slug it out and if they are really good, they should secure a spot. That's the point. |
| Re: Teams That Have Qualified For World Cup So Far by adetayoonas(m): 7:56am On Nov 16, 2025 |
dominique:This is World Cup not Uefa cup. This would make Asia and African countries soccer develop more. Even Europe having 16 out of 48 is one third of the whole world. They were even favoured. The Asia and African countries should continue to support this FIFA regime for doing the right thing. Gattuso is only making excuses for his low performance. He should complain more about South America with about 6 slots out of 10 Europe had 13 teams in the last world cup. FIFA added extra 3 to make 16. |

| Re: Teams That Have Qualified For World Cup So Far by cathodekazim: 8:03am On Nov 16, 2025 |
GanagiBitrus:I'll have to be careful with my choice of words but you seems to have issue with numbers and the concept of fairness. If Europe has 16 teams out of the entire 48 participating nation, that's 16/48 equals to 1/3 of the entire participating teams. That's one third. Now let me ask you, how many continents are there in the world. Consider the ratio and ask me later. FIFA added those extra spots when they saw how other lesser participating nations have been performing yet with very few numbers. 5 rep Africa but one made it to the final. With all the yeye European teams, why couldn't all of them make it to the semis if they are so good. |

dominiique:UEFA (54 federations) increased from 13 (10 group winners, 3 UEFA play-offs) to 16 (12 group winners, 4 UEFA play-offs) CAF (54 federations) increased from 5 (group winners ) to 9.25 (9 group winners, 1 multiple CAF and inter-confederation play-offs) Gattuso is just out of touch. if CAF and UEFA organize a joint world cup qualification tournament, there is no way CAF will not get 10 slots. |

Teymanhenry:This is a question that will never have an answer. FIFA is doing a lot for the good of the game globally and this FIFA president in my opinion has been the best head of that organisation ever. There things he has to balance. The GAME itself which is resident in Europe. That is where the best quality is found. That is where the best players worldwide trade their skills. You cannot ignore UEFA. The MONEY today is resident in Asia. That is where the biggest investments in the game are currently being made. They own some of the biggest clubsides in the world and are some if the biggest investors in the commercial aspects of the game. FIFA needs sponsors, they need money to run the game. The TALENTS, the players overwhelmingly today reside in the south. That is in Africa and South America. They supply so much talent they are redrawing demographics in the north, In Europe today practically every national team of repute has immigrants and players of mixed heritage. FIFA recognizes this and the need to develop the game in their territories of origin. So they invest a lot into the game in Africa and South America. There is simply no way for FIFA to adopt a bias against one region or the other so they take the easiest way out and expand participation. I understand there were clandestine proposals to make it even bigger. Already we can see that the era of single country hosts is ebbing away. |
