Hello mate, why tourist visa processing in Nigeria is taking longer than expected? i submitted tourist visa 1st week of August 2025, biometric and documentation everything was done at VFS abuja. i am confused, and is astonish that no update up till this morning, 14th of November. this is autrageous. can anyone shed more light on what likely be the cause of all this delay, my original intended travel date has already passed due to the extended delay.

The normal average processing time is 3 months from the date an application is received at their embassy in Abuja.

Since yours has passed that timeframe, if I were you, I would send them an email to make an inquiry about my application.

how can i retrieve my passport temporary, why my visa application is still ongoing. i dont want to withdral my application but i need the passort to process other things. please if you know process and email to contact kindly share the information with me.

I think we submitted and did biometric almost the same time. My biometric was on August 7 and the application was received on 11th of august. I’m yet to receive any update till now either. Please , if you have an update about your own application share it. Or May be we exchange contact please.

I have sent an email time without number but they keep saying "application still on queue for processing". I am still having intentions to resend another email next week because is going to be 5 months next week that i submitted my documents and biometrics

The likelihood that the Irish embassy will refuse a visa is extremely high if the trip dates stated in the application have already passed.

The reason that will be cited in the denial or refusal letter will be based on the fact that the travel dates have passed.

No, this is not true.
I had similar situation recently and Visa was granted.
Application Submission:May 27, 2025
Planned travel date in Application: August 15
passport returned =September15
Visa Start/end date: September 23 - December 22

I wrote that based on a true testimony and what was written in a refusal letter.

My friend submitted an application last year, which was denied. The reason given was that the travel dates had already passed.

He submitted another application in September of last year, and his passport was returned to him on January 9 with a three-month visa.

I don’t know anyone, but currently they are still processing those appeals submitted in March.

please i have been waiting for 4 months now to get a reply for my mom's visa and nothing yet,, is this how irish visa takes time? is this normal ... 4 months to get a reply is ridiculous

. I sent an email on 28th , they are repeating the same thing as earlier. They said it’s on queue and the processing time is now 12weeks due too a lot of applications at hand. Meanwhile it’s About 5 months that I submitted my application and docs .
