The parents of the pupil who was allegedly ass@ulted by his teacher in an Abuja-based school have come out to give their own side of the story.

In a statement released by their lawyers, the parents claim their child had repeatedly complained of repeated ass@ult from the said teacher. The aggrieved parents claim the repeated ass@ult had even started taking a tow on their child as he frequently complained of headache and blurred vision as a result of the slaps. The parents also claimed other students confirmed the repeated acts of ass@ult by the teacher.

The parents said they went to the school to seek a resolution only for them to be met with a teacher who was recounting the assault with ‘’chilling nonchalance’’ and speaking in a manner as if he was right to sl@p their child.

The parents also mentioned that the principal of the school was all about filming them. They stated that it was the teacher’s arrogant justification and their fierce parental love that forced them to descend on the teacher with sl@ps.
They argue that instead of intervening to restore order, the Principal shamelessly continued recording and later uploaded the footage to social media.

They demanded that within the next 24 hours, the school must Remove the video in its entirety from every platform, Conduct an independent investigation into the teacher’s conduct, Implement verifiable child-protection reforms to safeguard every pupil from targeted harm by peers or regrettably staff, retract all false claims regarding the child’s expulsion and the alleged refund of fees and produce and preserve all CCTV records of the child’s classroom which contains footages of the multiple times the child was assaulted by the teacher in the video.

They say failure to do this, they will be compelled to escalate the matter to the Federal Ministry of Education, the National Human Rights Commission, the Nigeria Police Force and the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory to seek all necessary legal remedies

The life of a private teacher can be so miserable. I have been there. I can only imagine the pain this teacher must be going through now

Poor man and him pikin dey really dey suffer for this country.

But then again, with these types of parents,it's very crystal clear that our society is already in problem...

Reminds of one scenario I witnessed myself.....Saw the mother of a pupil with Cain on her way to her child's school, to flog a teacher who disciplined her child......Omoh,na once I weak...but deep down,I said to myself that this isn't the right way to go....

It's like the parents don't know the meaning of viral video. Video that has been stored in countless devices by now, how is the school supposed to retract it?

The student's parents claim that the teacher had repeatedly assaulted the student. Another report I read claims that the student pushed the teacher twice.

Who is lying and who is saying the truth?

histemple:
If the child has truly been subjected to sustained bullying for months, why is it not contained in their statement how they had approached the school or complained to the school authorities before now?

From the conduct of the parents, it's crystal clear that they are touts, and their child couldn't have been any better behaved. Imagine the woman joining to slap the teacher, after her husband had slapped the man repeatedly.
Thank you for this wonderful analysis.

While it’s not a good thing to victimize any one, much less a child, parents must learn to exercise restraint. I understand parental love can sometimes have a role to play in how a parent acts in defense of the child but going physical on the teacher can be counterproductive.

Lolss .. it was a slap loaded scenerio
The shameful principal did nothing rather than making a video.
The parents are right to take any legal redress but on the flip of a coin two wrongs don't make a right.. they shouldn't have descended on the teacher the way they did reason they could be sued for assault too.
Re: Abuja Parents Who Slapped Teacher Release Statement by datola: 5:21pm On Nov 16, 2025
Most of those teachers are demons. They are frustrated!

And the principal recording the incident and posting same online is so unprofessional.
Re: Abuja Parents Who Slapped Teacher Release Statement by GboyegaD(m): 5:21pm On Nov 16, 2025
Very weak excuse. The lawyers need make their money so they will issue out the statement whether or not it is meaningful.
Re: Abuja Parents Who Slapped Teacher Release Statement by Kelklein(m): 5:21pm On Nov 16, 2025
In all of your submission, you did not mention your child's rude behaviour.. I do not support capital punishment for pupils, I think Nigerian schools should adopt the Detention style used in western schools, where they are dedicated masters that handle discipline for rude kids and no parent would cry of maltreatment..

No matter what your child might have told you, You have no right to assault a teacher.

There are established channels for venting such complaints.

A child that you refused to train at home and refused a teacher from training would be trained for you by outsiders.. it's only a question of time.

Private school teaching is slavery, you put up with spoilt brats, school owners that exploit you mercilessly and stupid parents that see you as a nobody.

That teacher fvked up by eating those slaps without reply.

Poor damage control...

If a good lawyer takes up the case of this teacher, those parents would be made to pay for damages..
Re: Abuja Parents Who Slapped Teacher Release Statement by HacheNoire: 5:22pm On Nov 16, 2025
Made a statement and still could not actually state what their boy did.

Meaning it’s not pleasant to the ears.

You could have just stated what the boy did that triggered the teacher, so the public can see to it.

What warranted your boy to push the teacher twice. Was he about to be raped or what? Those are critical questions that needs to be answered.

Re: Abuja Parents Who Slapped Teacher Release Statement by brain54(m): 5:23pm On Nov 16, 2025
They are always two sides to a story...

I would like to know what age and class the student in question is. In the previous post I assumed he was less than 6/7 years old and in primary school.

Also I saw the teacher explaining his reason for slapping the said student and he didn't seem non challant to me.

It was the parents that seemed aggressive and I assume that was why the principal picked up his phone to start recording!

Uncultured couple.

A good lawyer should volunteer to help the aggrieved teacher seek redress.

Hmmm!

I didn't witness the incident. All I have to say is, may justice prevail in favour of the offended and against the offender.

See these ones...

Where were your lawyers when you could have arrested and sued the teacher and school for assault and endangerment?

Una wan show boss, e con backfire. Now you're asking school to pull down video, for what? It happened in their premises and it's evidence. You did the first thing last.
Re: Abuja Parents Who Slapped Teacher Release Statement by Kukutente23: 5:24pm On Nov 16, 2025
No matter what happened, you shouldn't have beaten your kids' teachers
What morals are you passing to the kids
There are better ways of handling such issues than resorting to violence on the teachers who are supposed to be second only to the parents in terms of moulding the children

The good thing is that, they have started that child on a path that leads to destruction. Few years from now, he's going to turn out to be a cultist and the mother will now be running up and down from one church to another
Re: Abuja Parents Who Slapped Teacher Release Statement by Nobody: 5:25pm On Nov 16, 2025
Blurred vision and headache😂 for the principal to start filming before the slaps prove the man is a violent man and he’s just trying to justify his actions. If you don’t want anybody touching your son, he’s better off schooling at home than using him as a trap against others.

It is easy to see that the parents are economical with the truth. They obviously stormed the school to fight and that's why the principal quickly grabbed her phone to record them, sensing something was about to go down. Parents have a lot of work to do.
