She is good at defending failed mothers!

As soon as you succeed financially in life, please forgive all those that wronged you, especially your parents because they remain your second God here on earth and you can never replace them with anyone else

What's this stupid blackmail about? She's alleged to be a bad a wicked parent who threw her out at age 12. Who throws a girl child out at that age? She was raped and molested, you weren't bothered. How she survived, you weren't bothered, now, you claimed you were running around to make her win BBN and you were not given a special invitation. What a mother!

You threw your daughter out at age 12 but systematically telling the whole World you are homeless and showing the whole World where you live. Shame!
You threw a child out to be molested but telling the Whole World that the girl is the one abandoning you. What a mother!
I thought women were good people! Lmaooooooooooooooo they are as shittt as the males

Trash..trash.
This same talk has encouraged people to be irresponsible
Take care of your kids to the best of your capacity.
Don't be an irresponsible parent abandoning your children and expect them to take care of you at old age.. it wont work

Parental abandonment and neglect. Read the last paragraph of the op.

Irresponsibility is not tribe specific

Some of you are soooo unintelligent

You view everything through your narrow tribal lenses

How will you judge a whole tribe through the actions of one person ? You are sick and you need urgent help

I hav come to realize that Yorubas are horrible when it comes to family.

The things I saw in Yoruba land how they abandon parents to be living in ghetto.

How they disrespect their parents.
The thing dey really shock me

One of my barber jide told me he has kid but is not married. I ask how ??

He said baby mamas is a normal thing in Yoruba.

They born throway their kids to be hustling
Mother always fighting with sons
Daughters with teenage pregnancy

The level of dysfunctional homes in SWest is very very high. It's really sad

If people keep forgiving every parent that wrong them, then we should be prepared for more wrongdoings from parents. The reason some people keep doing shit is because others keep forgiving them without teaching them a small lesson.

Hmmn....Very terrible of her mom. Now she wants to celebrate with her and act like nothing happened. Do you know the reason why she was kicked out of the house?
What reason would justify throwing a 12 year old girl unto the streets?

I really pity this woman. Not because she was right but because she was quite myopic! Apologies to the everyone thinking like that . Only if they knew that the most wretched person/ orphan today could be a wealthy and influential person tomorrow (if God decides to pick his/her call).

Unfortunately, a good percentage of our female folks think that way!

This is your own child, you threw her out at 12. I don't care what excuse she might claim was responsible. Even if the father disowned her! You were supposed to be her protection, her shelter, her everything.

Some people believe when they do the unthinkable, they can later apologize. Of course she might have apologized but can the victim be unraped?

This invariably means she will never forget the experience and as a result, she would find it very difficult to genuinely forgive her mum.

It's a family matter tho, none of my business but we need to be very careful how we treat people, not only our relatives but the society at large.

Imagine such sickening gaslighting! I don't blame the child.

The mother has no regrets.

All she needs to tell the daughter that she is sorry. That what she did was wrong. That whether the daughter forgives her or not inconsequential.

Enough of this matter biko. The elders in their family should help them settle it amicably
If your parents kicked you out when you were 12 and you got raped and abused while being homeless, maybe the elders can resolve the rift between you and them.

Not everyone is the same (Read 1 Timothy 5:8

Must you tribalize everything?

Is this a mental condition or spiritual affliction?

Weren't we here just weeks ago where a widow in IMO state, was locked in the ambulance bearing her husband's corpse and she was forced to drink the water used to wash it?

The IMO state governor had to intervene.

So if you want to tribalize things, know that all tribes have their villains.

P.S: I am not Yoruba and don't have any particular fondness for them

You can't eat your cake and have it.

The way and manner African elders manipulate the young ones was designed to make them avoid responsibility and consequences. Soon you will see some folks preach to Imisi that "no matter what her mother did, she is still her mother and should take of her, if she doesn't want generational curse" E joooor... e ko'shi danu!

It's only here that we don't understand the concept of action and consequence.
I wish I give you a mortuary standard beer for this comment.

This stupid crying online has justified the claim by Imisi that her parents threw her out at age 12 leading to her horrible experiences. A truly good mother cannot be calling her daughter out like this on social media.
She wants to reap where she never planted. Some women are so senseless sha!

Your post starting from the first paragraph comes off as highly IRRESPONSIBLE of YOU! If you know you have NOTHING intelligent to write about on a major discussion forum such as this except deliberate disinformation and toxic hate speech, then learn to sit on your hands!

You don't generalize negativity about a major ethnic group like the Yoruba folks who have an estimated 70 million strong population spread in major population centers of the world with Yorubas being indigenous people to Nigeria, Benin Republic, Togo, Ghana, etc.

The FACT that some dysfunctional families exist among the Yorubas (likely due to the abrupt death of a bread winner, unforseen economic downturns, drug addiction and more) just like in other ethnicities in Nigeria, Africa and around the world, doesn't mean it's a norm and culturally acceptable to a vast number of people in the different Yoruba subgroups. I know from the culture of the Yoruba folks that the "Omoluabi mantra" reigns supreme and a man who CANNOT feed his family isn't respected among the Yoruba folks and this is why there is pressure to be an achiever on NOT just the Yoruba males BUT females as well. This is seen in the fact that fathers send their female girls to school because when you TRAIN a woman, you train a NATION. When property are shared on the demise of a parent or parents, the property is shared equally without discrimination among the male and female children. DESIST from your relentless bigotry about the millions of Yoruba folks who you do NOT know absolutely fully about. Period.

How many Yoruba couples are properly married tradition and registry?
