Most of those teachers are demons. They are frustrated!

And the principal recording the incident and posting same online is so unprofessional.
You must be high on something to say something like this, and it’s exactly why so many children are being failed at home. Did you even take a moment to watch that video? Cant you see that this write up is clearly an attempt to cover their shit
Tell me, in what sane society does a student push a teacher? That alone shows the kind of upbringing the child has and the type of parents behind such behaviour. It’s shocking that anyone would try to defend this. People who think this way are part of the problem and have no place in a society that values discipline and respect.

Remember the way you were trained and ask yourself if that training truly reflects in your behaviour today. Then think carefully about the kind of reflection you expect to see in your own children, considering the way you are raising them now.

Did any of your students have the boldness to push you in class?

If any of your students disrespects you in such a manner and you tolerate it just be sure that the other students will start doing the same thing because they think they can get away with it
Did the teacher tell u a student pushed him?? I want to know where u got that from.

What even transpired b4 it gets to a student having to push a teacher? I went through primary and secondary schools and not even the baddest boys in school could dare push a teacher so abeg tell me how Yr own take happen? Or is it a wild assumption scenario to find excuse to slap a child? undecided

now the question is, if you were the parent, what will you do?
I'll listen to the teacher as to why he slapped the child and if I find out the child really did push an elderly person and someone who is supposed to be his teacher , I'll give the boy another round of punishment. I was raised that way and I'll raise my children that way.

The student's parents claim that the teacher had repeatedly assaulted the student. Another report I read claims that the student pushed the teacher twice.

Who is lying and who is saying the truth?

Thank you for this wonderful analysis.
what led to the pushing? Nobody can tell me that the teacher was teaching, and the student just stood up, to go and push the teacher just like that.

MarkNsukkaBread:
Please don't tell me you believe that rubbish about the student having headaches as a result of beating from the teacher, it's the normal lie people tell when they want to use emotions to sway a case in their favour.

It's somewhat similar to a situation where a landlord forcefully ejects a tenant who has been owing a rent of 500k for 2 years; the next thing you hear is that the tenant will claim he has 1.5 million in a box in his room which got stolen during the forced ejection
Didn't say if it is true or not. However if a teacher gives my child that much physical damage, they go answer to me.
Re: Abuja Parents Who Slapped Teacher Release Statement by AfonjaPriest: 8:34pm On Nov 16, 2025
I have been in worse situation for my child.
No matter what, you don't slap a teacher.
Tomorrow, that child may cause grief to you.
The best approach is to be civil and reasonable and seek resolution to the issue.
If you are not satisfied, go to the police or to the court.
The way I see it, the teacher slapped, who was not the accused teacher might sue the parents for assault, bodily harm, etc.

EDGEof2MORO:
so you are in support of the teacher slapping the child? Is physical violence the only way to teach? if you wanted your child to be beaten up, why not send your child to a boxing ring for training? Is the teacher a gladiator? Are there no superiors the teacher can report the child to?

You and a bunch of nairaland users that they beat shege comot dia bodi wen una small, are you not still constituting nuisiance on the internet?

To hell with that "This is Africa" quote. It is why the rest of the world will continue to look down on you because you behave like animals and justify jungle behaviour.

There are other ways to correct a child that does not involve physical violence. I know you do not know it because you were brought up with the mindset that violence and murder is the only solution to all your problems.
All my kids are not in Nigeria but still, the discipline is there because their initial upbringing was here In Nigeria. My children will never look at their teacher's face not to even talk of pushing them. You guys can continue breeding cultists, shooters and psychopaths thinking you're woke.

After their school, my children are coming back to Nigeria to manage some things as that's the legacy I had too. My wife will remain there to manage some things there too.

Continue thinking the way you do, but in Africa, the community trains the child. ..if not for wokeness, we know nothing like depression here. No need to pretend

Can the teacher not train this untrained child without resorting to physical violence? Did the parents send their child to a school or a gladiator's arena?

Una sef eh
Stop defending nonsense?

Where did the child get the boldness to push a teacher?

Private school teaching is slavery, you put up with spoilt brats, school owners that exploit you mercilessly and stupid parents that see you as a nobody.

That teacher fvked up by eating those slaps without reply.
Honestly. He should have sounded the dudes with an even hotter slaps than they gave him. If they don't want their spoilt brat to be disciplined, they can teach him themselves. Nonsense 😡

They are just trying to play smart with the issued statement through a so called lawyer having seen that their misconduct will attract grave consequence.

Since when does raining slaps on a teacher become a justifiable action? They can go to the courts if they care. The teacher has actually snared them by not fighting back.

The parents have committed assault and if the matter goes to court, the principal's video will be tendered as evidence.

Re: Abuja Parents Who Slapped Teacher Release Statement by MrColdsweat: 9:11pm On Nov 16, 2025
The problem is that the teacher did not transcend his emotions. When you use your power on a child simply because you are stronger, you give people stronger than you power to oppress you.

They are worried about the video the Principal made cos their actions were unruly and irresponsible.
If they had behaved well, they wouldn't be worried about the video.

They must have gone there to intimidate the owner of the school with threat of withdrawal of their child thinking that the Principal will fall to that.
They were shocked that instead of the School to start shivering, they expelled the student.
I love that firmness.
You can't export your family madness to that school.

Parents from h3ll.
How dare you as a parents raise hands on someone's employee?

This is so absurd. Where's teacher's protection act too?

Why my brother go touch my child? No teacher whatsoever has any right to hit a student placed under their care. Simple! If a child provokes you, walk away and report.
If any teacher touches my kid, im definitely going after them
He can't touch your child, but he should step up as an uncle and potentially a father figure in your absence abi? hypocrite..

I support the parents actions and I will do same.

Cane is inappropriate. The parents are not supposed to meet the teachers.
It supposed to stop at guidance and counsellor's office. The teacher supposed to be disciplined by the school after parents reports and not the other way round.
