I’m Nigeria, if it eventually reduces by N20,000, there’s still no guarantee it will reduce. They’ll rather make more gains than reduce it drastically. Corruption in Nigeria starts from the grassroots. |

Let it come down from where it skyrocketed... Then we can talk about the reduction in bread price.we can only say the price of the flour and sugar is fluctuating.... My opinion |

Importation of wheat is the problem...it's the same in most African countries. The head of Senegal's wheat growers was once asked if his country could produce enough wheat for their use. He said no. Same issue in nigeria. Nigeria only produces enough wheat to meet 20% of local demand. (Just to show you how far behind...China produces 138 million metric tonnes, we produce 1.2 million metric tonnes). So, unless we can produce 10 million metric tonnes or more, we are going to have high bread prices. |

| Re: Why Bread Price Remains High Despite Drop In Flour Cost by JuanDeDios: 3:42pm On Nov 17, 2025 |
emmabest2000:It's not dollar. Yes, dollar's a part of it. But It's mostly transport cost. Prices have found new levels already. Forget dollar falling below N1,200 - it's not going to happen. |

That's the unfortunate thing about Nigerians. Always quick to increase prices but very reluctant to reduce prices. |

Anything that is related to dangote products is not favourable to Nigerians, because it's prices will always go up and will never come down |

| Re: Why Bread Price Remains High Despite Drop In Flour Cost by JuanDeDios: 3:48pm On Nov 17, 2025 |
inoki247:That's because other INPUTS have not come down. And that's mostly due to transport cost. |
