| Re: My SpaceX Starlink Internet Experience In Lagos, Nigeria by Suntemi(m): 6:09am On Nov 16, 2025 |
dustmalik:Just buy a mount. There are not even that expensive. Plus, a mount makes your installation super solid. |

Suntemi:Bros, 90k to 75k for mount is on the high side for some people..... Starlink mount is one of the easiest thing a welder will construct for you in less than one hour and it won't even cost more than 15k. All the mount are super solid both the welders own and official starlink mount, we have both in my compound |

ijeezlux:Welder dey opposite my house. He will do the job when the thing arrives . Means i go get full Gen2 Kit (router and dish just lying fallow) . I still have extra Starlink standard actuated 75ft cable inside carton (untouched) What do i do with all these now and starlink has told me not to sell/give away my complete Gen2 Kit ![]()

johnnyholtby:Will you still be paying the 57k monthly subscription and also paying the 50k monthly installment? |
| Re: My SpaceX Starlink Internet Experience In Lagos, Nigeria by johnnyholtby(m): 10:11am On Nov 17, 2025 |
senator282:Yes. This works for me. MTN almost sucked me dry. You don't have to sub when you don't have to though. Plus I get one month free through referral. |
| Re: My SpaceX Starlink Internet Experience In Lagos, Nigeria by gsparks01(m): 1:10pm On Nov 17, 2025 |
johnnyholtby:I was just about to ask here if anyone has done this and received it. I sent their customer care a message also if it'll be sent immediately or after full payment which they haven't replied. But from your screenshot, it appears it's immediate. Let me order also |
| Re: My SpaceX Starlink Internet Experience In Lagos, Nigeria by johnnyholtby(m): 1:19pm On Nov 17, 2025 |
gsparks01:It's shipped already. I'll get it on Wednesday according to DHL. |
| Re: My SpaceX Starlink Internet Experience In Lagos, Nigeria by gsparks01(m): 1:23pm On Nov 17, 2025 |
johnnyholtby:what do you mean by "through referral"? |
| Re: My SpaceX Starlink Internet Experience In Lagos, Nigeria by johnnyholtby(m): 1:30pm On Nov 17, 2025 |
gsparks01:All users have a unique referral link. For example, if I use your referral link to buy a starlink hardware (either standard or Mini), I get a free one month subscription after activation. You also get a free one month subscription (because you referred me). You can get your referral link from the starlink app. |

dustmalik:@ijeezlux @johnnyholtby I also need this. Please, can you share more details about the mount? Images and what I'll need to tell the welder will help I want to raise the Starlink installation I have above a water tank beside it which is obstructing it to the west. It does work currently, but it's less stable that the experience I had before and the mobile application reports higher number of outages.

I don pack this Gen3 Kit for one side continue with my Gen2 E be like manual labor from alignment to permanent installation Make i rest first. The wahala too much. This one is not really plug and play like the Gen2 |
| Re: My SpaceX Starlink Internet Experience In Lagos, Nigeria by dustmalik(m): 3:40pm On Nov 18, 2025 |
georgee:😂😂😂 Have you gotten a mount? |
| Re: My SpaceX Starlink Internet Experience In Lagos, Nigeria by dustmalik(m): 3:47pm On Nov 18, 2025 |
georgee:The only time I notice any difference is during off-peak periods. Like in the middle of the night, I do get up to 400+Mbps. But that's because Abuja is at capacity, so performance is poor for the most part of the day. As you already know, the Gen 3 router is WiFi 6, which is better than Gen 2's WiFi 5. Sometimes I wish I was living in isolated environments where one can achieve 300+Mbps night and day. |
| Re: My SpaceX Starlink Internet Experience In Lagos, Nigeria by georgee(m): 4:06pm On Nov 18, 2025 |
dustmalik:I'm looking at getting the adapter first. Without it, one can't use a pole..Elon is crazy, i swear.. The only thing i see here is won't have to buy any ethernet adapter. The Gen3 router already has an extra port for that I will have to make use of the mount/Pole currently using for the Gen2. Scanning the sky from that side gave me 99.99% clear sky view
|
| Re: My SpaceX Starlink Internet Experience In Lagos, Nigeria by dustmalik(m): 4:33pm On Nov 18, 2025 |
georgee:Yeah, the Gen 3 router has 2 Ethernet ports you can connect to other devices. I ordered for a Gen 3 Pivot mount, which I never used, because I was eventually sent the flagship Gen 3 Ridgeline mount by my brother. It's the most expensive of the mounts. If anyone is interested in the Pivot mount, I am willing to sell at 140k

The attached is my Ridgeline mount box. The fascinating thing about the Ridgeline mount is that it eliminates the need to drill your roof, as it comes with 4 Ballasts weights that hold the mount down on your roof.

First 2 pics are my connection for my current Gen2 Kit (Rooftop by the water tank space) So i intend to use this pole and the main starlink Gen2 pole for this my new Gen3 Kit I just ordered Pole bracket from Aliexpress 29K (second pics) Once this bracket arrives, i will take the Gen2 dish and place my Gen3 kit same place and hopefully i get my alignment right

Heh guys, I’ve been trying to activate my starlink in Abuja for days now after I did a transfer from my former account which was for former company - I could not verify the NIN because it was not in my name. Is it possible to activate my starlink with a different services address like Kwali in FCT and use it around Gwarimpa? I’ve been without internet for days and it’s affecting my work. If there is any other workaround for residential plan activation, please share 🙏🏾 |

My Mini arrived yesterday and installation was a breeze. Luckily pole mount came with it so DStv mount worked. I must say the speed is ridiculous too

| Re: My SpaceX Starlink Internet Experience In Lagos, Nigeria by johnnyholtby(m): 6:30am On Nov 19, 2025 |
orimion:Hello, you need a pipe mount adapter to be able to use DStv dish mount. The adapter is around 30-35k on Jiji. It makes no sense starlink mini comes bundle with the pipe mount adapter (plus s kickstand adapter too) but not the standard Gen 3
