ObiPandora:Only the ibo man and his Jewish master will play the victim, victor , judge , accuser and persecutor all at once. They are a neurotic population who will try to justify their own evil acts by claiming victim despite every action towards them was and still remains justified. State of Israel formed by Soviet Jews drenching with the fleshly spewed blood of European Christians stormed Palestine after the end of WW2 and began the mass terrorism and genocide of the Arab population. The Irgun and Stern gangs were classified as terrorists organizations by the British authorities. Both organizations were accused of displacing , raping ,mass murdering an looting Palestinians from their homes. The UN ambassador made a call that the Jews were genociding and land grabbing from the Palestinians . In response the Jewish terrorists murdered him. Even the British who helped secure the land were not spared from their terrorism . The King David hotel housing British troops was bombed by Jewish terrorists in the Irgun gang. Members of the Stern gang kidnapped and murdered a British police officer. A minor riot and pogrom welcomed the news back in England that Jews who the British had fought to save from Hitler will turn around and begin to attack and murder British colonial officers and troops ? |

WizardOfNG:Yorubas were not privy to the war crimes committed by Biafran soldiers and ibo civilians alike on SS non ibo minorities during the annexation and occupation of their land by Ojukwu and his Biafra orcs. Till today, outside Asaba, ibo population across the SS has not recovered to levels before the war . Anti ibo sentiments are highest in the SS even more than the core Muslim north and the reason being what ibos did to the minority people. After the war, ibos were naturally hesitant to return to the north over the pogroms over there and in the SS they were persona non gratia. Only Yorubas had known what these people did to SS people , they would never have allowed them to settle in their midst. If Gowon had dragged their war criminals to a Nurumerg styled trial , I don't think they would be wanted anywhere outside their SE. Yorubas accommodated them peacefully since 1970 and gave them free space and opportunities to rehabilitate themselves and all Yorubas got back was criminality , insolence and insults from them. Now they are the only tribe in Nigeria insisting Lagos is no man's land while claiming it is them that own Lagos being the developers they claim they are. The frog and the Scorpion comes to mind when it comes to Yoruba (frog) and ibo (scorpion) relationship. Yoruba agreed to carry them across the turbulent waters on their backs only for them to sink their poisoned barbed tails on the Yorubas. And they will somehow still claim victim . |

owobokiri:Oga, it's cause and effect, Obidients made tribalism fashionable. Ndi Yoruba appear to now be playing them return match and I doubt anyone will begrudge them after seeing Obidients needlessly provoke them. We all saw the Presidential elections in 2023 and are fully aware who the real tribalists now are based on the proportion of votes each region gave their son and the number of states won by those from other regions in each region. Per any inferiority complex, maybe direct that accusation at your fellow Obidients who must self flaggelate every day on a Lagos that is in Ala Yoruba. |

joelbooks:This is just an attempt to "shalaye". This is not in any way an apology statement. The exhibition remains cancelled. |

joelbooks:First off, the correct spelling of the word is OWANBE [with the letter "N"] NOT "owambe." If that error in spelling wasn't pointed out to her and her ilk, they would continue to bastardize other peoples languages and spellings like they've done in the recent past. Second, TOKUNBO NOT "Tokumbo" just the same way that the plant/crop (fluted pumpkin) has grown globally for centuries in different parts of the world called "Fluted Pumpkin" leaves known as "Ewe Woroko" or "Eweroko" in Yoruba language. It is spelled as "UGU" NOT "ugwu." The Ibibios call the same Fluted Pumpkin "Nkong Ubong" while the Hausas call it "Yakuwa." Third, AGBERO NOT "Agboro" is another insidious Ibo bastardization of the Yoruba word "Agbero" which refers to the registered members of national transport unions and hence they are also NLC members. Fourth, BOLI in Yoruba language NOT "Bole" (which simply refers to the grilled of roasted plantain ONLY) WITHOUT the grilled fish or other cuisine alternatives or add-ons like peanuts, or other seafoods. Fifth, ELUBO NOT "Alibo" (Elubo is the Yoruba name for yam flour (Elubo isu), cassava flour (Elubo Lafun) and unripe plantain flour (Elubo Ogede) used for making the 3 kinds of Amalas). Is it too difficult for that female artist and her ilk (like the irresponsible Aisha Yesufu and some of her SE followers did on her YouTube channel comments) to understand this FACT of standard ethno linguistics? In the Yoruba-English dictionary, is OWANBE spelled with a letter M? NO. As a lover of various art forms for years and an art collector myself, it appears this lady deliberately chose to create a controversy to gain cheap popularity but it would backfire because there are unintended consequences for every "cause and effect." |

Konquest:Oga mi, As usual, it's always refreshing to be learning from you without paying a penny. Just to add ontop of your kindly teachings to those stuff necked Obidients and drag it down to their knuckle dragging Nearderthalian level. "Owa ni bẹ" is what is shortened to "Owanbẹ". I believe there might be an apostrophe between the "n" and "b" for pure Yoruba writers. I am also irked by the bastardisation/cross polination of our local languages by those that do it deliberately and should know better. |

aswani:@aswani Good to hear from you. I saw your post on this thread page as well and gave it a LIKE because you were succinct. Yes the OWANBE is an elition or shortened from "Owa ni be." Indeed, I'm on the same page with you on you latest post here and this is why I ALWAYS like to respect other people's cultures, foods and ways of life because that is what defines them. Look at Folasade Ojo went to Benin to install an Iyaoloja when the title in Benin is Iyeki NOT Iyaoloja. She herself shouldn't be called Iyaoloja General of Nigeria. Whatever market leader title she inherited via the Eleko of Eko (Oba of Lagos Island) STAYS within Lagos State just like that of her highly enterprising grandma Alhaja Abibatu Mogaji who was a well-traveled international business woman just like the international business woman Madam Dideolu Awolowo (the wife of late Chief Jeremiah Obafemi Awolowo, GCFR, SAN). So, Folasade cannot carry that so-called Iyaoloja General of Nigeria (which is even strange in Yorubaland) to other Yoruba States NOT to talk of Edo or Delta States which both have some ancestral lineages in some communities with the rest of the larger Yorubaland extending to the Yoruba-speaking Benin Republic and Togo. Iyaoloja is usually given by Yoruba Obas in each community as markets usually exist near the Palaces of the Obas hence the "Oja Oba or Oba's Markets" all over Yorubaland and Benin City too has an Oba's Market. The Oba of Benin was right about "Iyeki" being the correct title for his domain. This is what Folasade should have known if she was widely read in terms of historical knowledge and I wager she wouldn't ever disrespect others again after that cultural blunder. It is in this light that I ALSO find the insidious behavior of many young SE supporters of that secessionist gang posting disinformation about the etymology of words and disrespectfully distorting other people's ethnic histories. The traditional religious terms for "so shall it be" is "ase" and "isee" which are of the same roots and definitely of Yoruba and Benin origins respectively BUT these SE of Nigeria propagandists claim FALSELY that "ISEE" is derived from them not Benin. This is how we EXPOSED right here on NL in 2024 the etymology or original meaning of 'Egusi"(Egunsi) as being of direct Yoruba origin which the Ibos LOANED after 1900 and use in their lingo as "egwusi" with a W letter. Internet-savvy folks simply brought out the screenshots of the "Longman Ibo-English Dictionary" co-written by an Ibo scholar named Echeruo and a European scholar decades ago stating CLEARLY that the word Egwusi is indeed a borrowed or LOANED word from "YOR" (Yoruba) under the dictionary entry. Prior to that, the highly uninformed young Ibo posters on NL were cursing the Yoruba folks for cultural appropriation meanwhile the "Longman Ibo-English Dictionary" screenshots exposed the Ibos as being the ones that LOANED many words from the Yorubas (and definitely from the Igalas of Kogi, Northern Enugu, Anambra, and Delta North at Ebu and more, who speak a major Yoruboid language with has up to 65% mutual intelligibility with Yoruba language just like the Itsekiri language is officially classified for decades now as Yoruboid). |

Konquest:Thanks sir, excellent post once more. Why these Obidients repeatedly pick fights with more savvy and intelligent people is a head scratcher, they will hopefully learn one day that "shoe get size" |

aswani:Very apt... "Shoe get size." This is why unavailable EVIDENCE is required to ALWAYS shut those creeps up whenever they go on ranting online with their predictable disinformation. I appreciate your feedback. Cheers! |
