Nnamdi Kanu's trial is being transmitted live on NTA

I hope we can be seeing trials live henceforth

They will most likely sentence him today if they are transmitting it live. Or what do u think?

Yes. Today is the ruling

Watching Kanu defend himself is very funny grin

E don use "My Lord" tire.

But I think he isn't doing badly. Probably years of going to court and dealing with lawyers helped him to be able to present himself well, and use their terms

Yes but you dont need to read the law to defend yourself
The only place he won't do well is to question witnesses

You will most likely do badly if you don't know the law.

But today is for closing statements. Na sentencing remain

So this man claims because herdsmen lack education, that's why they go about attacking other law abiding citizens and wreaking havoc? So what about the uneducated people down south? Do they go about carrying RPGs and automatic assault rifles like the Fulani herdsmen are doing?

This man just dey bring dumb arguments to defend terrorists and he thinks he is making sense.
He is also avoiding the core question - why are they uneducated?

This is like a father to the neighbourhood nuisance telling everyone - it is because this guy never went to school he behaves like this.

Is it not the same clowns who will reject anything western and will tell you about how their way of life is superior to any western nonsense?

Honestly when these people talk sometimes you can see the curse of the quota system. People bereft of logical reasoning making loud and foolish statements with confidence

Exactly!

These people reject education and would even kidnap students from schools to drive home their point , but here is Gumi saying it is lack of education that is responsible for their violence.

He also claims their lack of employment contributed to them embracing terrorism. We all know animal husbandry/herding is a profession in most parts of the world. Instead for their elites who have made money in business and politics to assist them in practicing modern livestock farming through ranching, they are busy blaming government and choosing to destroy means of livelihood of farmers and other law abiding citizens.

Honestly, people like Gumi needs to be drilled and investigated to really understand the motive behind some of these reckless statements he keeps making to justify terrorism.

It is not always advisable for a man to defend himself without the aid of a lawyer. Even Awolowo that was a lawyer who chose to defend himself at his trial over an attempted coup, ended up getting sentenced to prison despite putting up a good show.

His demand is not out of place.

'Show me where in your law that you want to convict me'

How is that hard to answer if you're going to pass a judgement that will affect the life of an individual?

It's wise to use a lawyer if he is certain that justice and fairness will be done. If not, no lawyer will agitated for him the way he has agitated.

Justice Omotosho is a known rogue judge, isn't he?

I'll create a scene myself if I am not confident of getting justice.

Even if they will kill him, at least let the whole world hear his voice.

And then you go about shouting and insulting the whole court?

You call the Judge "Mad"...Tells him God will punish him...Abi?

I really don't blame him....Nah I don't, at all

If not that Buhari wanted to score very nonsense points, this matter would have been a forgotten issue

Do you think Judges pronounce judgement based on agitations or emotions of the accused/defendant?

Shouting on top of his voice or accusing the judge of being compromised would not make the judge release him if he has a bad case. (which I think he does)

Only a lawyer can explore the loopholes in the charges against him and use those loopholes to put up a defense for him. His opinion about Omotosho won't matter if he is sentenced to prison because of his bad case. Even if he appeals, the appeal court will most likely affirm the lower court's judgement if he continues to fooolishly agitate for himself instead of getting a good lawyer to argue his case.

Under Jonathan when the Northwest was very much safe while the North east was facing serious insecurity challenge , my parents were scared and didn't want me to travel that far.

Now imagine now that u have IPOB making problem in the South East, Boko Haram and ISWAP causing problem in the Northeast, Fulani Herdsmen and bandits causing problems in the North central and North west; only God knows how most parents will react to their kids getting posted far away from their region where they know the terrain.
With this incessant killings, abductions kidnapping and general insecurities, one will expect the FG to take a proactive actions to halt the scheme to avert stories that touch.

At least, halt the scheme for now till we have little control over the security of the country.

God knows if I have my way, I will skip this scheme....

I learnt they closed Kwara state NYSC camp . You know the camp in Kwara is located at Patigi which is one of the areas being terrorized by bandits/terrorists in recent times.

I think the major reason they don't want to put a stop to the scheme is because of the various vendors get contract to supply NYSC kits, food items in NYSC camp, etc. Those people are powerful and will lobby at the highest level of government for the scheme to continue irrespective of the security situation in the country.

I aways advise anybody who doesn't fancy the idea of serving in far away states with insecurity issues to liaise with their LI or ZI to share their allawee while they ghost the scheme. Na only person wey survive after service year go fit think of his future o.
