Though I should be responding only to real humans but it’s okay. Biko, with the exception of Bello Turji (a known wanted terrorist who is on the run), which of the other men you listed openly came outside asking his followers to shoot and kill people? Which one among them ordered his followers to burn down government offices and infrastructure in the name of fighting for his people?
Did Igboho order anyone to kill your family members, soldiers or police officers?
I don’t like Gumi and not always in agreement with Igboho but these two men are careful with their speeches. Gumi is cunningly playing the role of mediator; acting as if he doesn’t like both what the bandits are doing and how the govt is handling their case. He has never for once come to the media to start instructing the bandits to attack soldiers and kidnap people. If truly Gumi is working with these bandits and is able to always distant himself from being directly linked to them, then it’s safe to say that Gumi is a more intelligent human than Nnamdi Kanu because intelligent criminals are very hard to nail because you will only keep suspecting them but they will never leave a trail. With the ocean of physical evidence against Kanu, even god can’t save him at this very point. It would have been better for him if there are no videos of him making all those damning pronouncements. Again my friend, emotions don’t win cases! Simon Ekpa didn’t do half of what Nnamdi did and he got himself 6 years in a “saner clime” yet you want Kanu, his master and mentor to be given a pat on the back because he’s your kinsman . Make una Dey use una head once in a while at least. His only problem is that he talks too much! A smart person wouldn’t have said things that would link him directly to any of the killings but no, dude would even come out to gloat anytime an innocent person or security operative is killed but because of ethnic madness, you want them to free him just like that.

I never like that idea of discontinuing with his counsel. I guess being in detention for a long time has had a toll on his mental health. Let us be watching. The judgement has been predetermined even before he dropped his counsel.

He can still appeal the verdict of the high court. After all, it was at appeal court that his able counsel, Prof.Mike Ozekhome secured his freedom ,after which supreme Court used technicalities to re channel the case to High Court.

I suspect there was a lobby by Ibo elders and politicians and probably (speculation) Tinubu may have commuted his sentence to a reduced term.

However events have overtaken that possibility.

1) the outcry with forced Tinubu to reverse pardons for terrorists, drug dealers and murderers
2) the lobby by IPOB causing Trump to threaten the invasion of Nigeria.

It is not good optics in light of the attention IPOB lobbyists have brought to terrorism in Nigeria to release or commute or pardon Kanu at this time and if he doesn’t do so now, he won’t after the election.
