GloriousGbola:I heard that too. I hope the Malian army is able to repel them cos if they should overrun Mali, that is bad news for every nation cos it emboldens the local Jihadists in every country and also those Jihadis wont stop at Mali |

blueraydick izzou and ibime There are so many Lebanese and Chinese in the NW, North Central in Nigeria running construction and illegal mines are they being kidnapped at a high rate or do they have a side deal with the bandits that guarantees their security in exchange for something I will be thinking that the foreigners will have a higher ransom value that random villagers who probably have never seen 20K in the last 3 months When the Niger Delta militancy was ongoing, the expatriates were being targeted more and it makes economic sense cos they will command a higher ransom |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by izzou(m): 2:34pm On Nov 20, 2025 |
raumdeuter:Those guys invest a lot in their security There are rumors that they sponsor these attacks too. When they discover a village that has something to be mined, rather than go through the process of negotiations and paying royalties, they use bandits to chase out everyone and begin their mining I have no proof of this |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by BlueRayDick: 2:42pm On Nov 20, 2025 |
raumdeuter:I think there is more to the presence of those Asians in the North. The word on the street is that those guys may be the ones fueling insecurity . From what I know about the Niger Delta, if u like get 20 armed bodyguards if those boys want to kidnap for ransom, they will do that. And they did kidnap a lot of expats throughout the period of agitation. I think that the Asians are moving around freely over there definitely means they have some kind of arrangement with the gun wielding bandits. |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by raumdeuter: 2:42pm On Nov 20, 2025 |
izzou:This sounds credible to me. Cos think about it if you want to kidnap, why wont you go for someone who is an expatriate and will have money than people who are poor, when you see the level of poverty of some of those kidnapped,, you will know except govt rescues them, there is no one going to pay 100K for him Yet these Chinese an Lebanese are moving around you freely who can guarantee you dollars Maybe the Chinese even supply them weapons and logistics too, Chase villagers out and we mine in peace |

The judge wants to take a recess and will come back to pronounce Nnamdi Kanu's sentence. |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by BlueRayDick: 2:45pm On Nov 20, 2025 |
raumdeuter:I know Lebanese and Indians operate industries like plastic making factories, Foam making factories, agro allied & food processing plants, etc. But the Chinese, I really don't know what they are doing in the north. I won't doubt illegal mining as has been alleged by people who know that terrain well. |

I like how the prosecution went for the jugular in this Nnamdi Kanu's trial. You don't incite people to create anarchy and then expect a light sentence. I'm sure people like the Akunyilis will feel some level of relief that just has finally been served as regards their father's death when the Kanu is finally sentenced |

BlueRayDick:Chinese have infiltrated through construction and agro manufacturing too, Many states in Nigeria have projects being run by CCECC. Some are here legally, but you know Chinese once they get the contract they import a lot of their country men. Some are here illegally running the illegal mines, And I put nothing past them. Cos with the manner of these rampart kidnapping, I would think the expatriates specially working on the field would be easier and more rewarding to get Last week, I saw one Chinese man wearing Hausa dress and blowing fluent Hausa with a minister https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LTDhh0A0BhE I dont understand the full context of what he is saying maybe someone who understands better will interpret |

raumdeuter:They have had the capital in a vice grip for weeks and are slowly strangulating it and stopping fuel supplies from getting through. Armoured vehicles, tanks, planes all require fuel. Bamako is doomed unless something miraculous happens. Their president made several strategic errors. |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by izzou(m): 2:56pm On Nov 20, 2025 |
raumdeuter:Very possible Especially the Asians..They are one group that will look for how to cut corners, when they enter a system. Mining is seriously happening in Nigeria, and na dem dey in charge. Most of the quarries I see while traveling are owned by the Chinese. I'm not sure they pay adequately for how they are degrading the environment When that place scatter, they move to another place |

raumdeuter:I am not a school staff. So purge your brain of whatever misconceptions you have about me. Secondly, I have already alluded about it being wiser to have legal counsel. What I have only said is that neither shouting nor not shouting will change the mind of the judge. So if he shouts, it's better. |

Spy360:You mean the same lawyers you claim this about Spy360:I hope the shouting works for him in this case, When you teach your students tell them to shout at judges to get a favorable ruling |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Spy360(m): 3:11pm On Nov 20, 2025 |
raumdeuter:I am defending my statement in a civil manner. So you should do well to respect that. Like I said, if one is sure of not getting justice, it's better to shout. You may have a different approach, but it doesn't nullify mine. |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by BlueRayDick: 3:17pm On Nov 20, 2025 |
raumdeuter:I didn't even know CCECC has gained foothold like that in the north. I was thinking they only do projects for LASG and Ogun state government o. The thing is those people don't necessarily play by the rules, they can do anything to get what they came for. That's why I always laugh at people who would show middle finger to the west and embrace the Chinese. They don't know those guys don't even respect the law of their hosts |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by BlueRayDick: 3:19pm On Nov 20, 2025 |
izzou:Buhari struggled to adjust to ruling as a civilian president . Him keeping Kanu in detention for that long is typical of Military government. |

I hope they put the same efforts on bandits, boko haram and kidnapers ravaging our societies, killing, ransacking, kidnapping and disrupting the peace of the society if not, it amounts to greatest injustice ever. One day, this forced marriage will be dissolved and it will be televised globally through the length and breadth of the world. |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by izzou(m): 3:24pm On Nov 20, 2025 |
reccy:There's already injustice. Because while the right thing is make Kanu pay for his crimes, we have the ones up north being rehabilitated and enrolled into the Army. Whatever verdict given today is right, but then there's still injustice |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by GloriousGbola: 3:26pm On Nov 20, 2025 |

| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by BlueRayDick: 3:31pm On Nov 20, 2025 |
izzou:I think going forward we actually need to mount serious pressure on the government to have terrorists prosecuted and convicted. In fact, if Southern Lawmakers are wise, they should raise a motion and sponsor a bill that will put a stop to so called rehabilitation and reintegration of terrorists into the society. The idea of granting amnesty or leniency to terrorists must be discontinued. |
