Igbos are slowly becoming a laughing stock not because we lack strength, intelligence, or unity, but because of the deep selfishness that has taken root in many of our leaders. A people once known for courage, innovation, and resilience now face shame not from outsiders, but from those who claim to represent us. Our leaders choose personal gain over collective progress. They chase positions instead of purpose. They trade the future of our children for short-term benefits. And while they fight for their own pockets, the entire nation watches and laughs not at our weakness, but at how our own leaders betray us. If the foundation is corrupt, the house will shake. If the shepherd is lost, the flock will scatter. That is what is happening today. But the Igbo spirit is not dead. We rise after every fall. What we need is leadership rooted in truth, unity, and selflessness. Until then, the mockery will continue not because we deserve it, but because those who should protect our dignity have chosen their own interest over the destiny of our people. It’s time to speak up. It’s time to demand better. Ndi Igbo deserve leaders who put the people first |

Nigeria launched into her current democracy in 1999. 1999 - 2007 Obasanjo/PDP 2007 - 2011 Yar'Adua / Jonathan/PDP 2011 - 2015 Jonathan/ PDP Then IPOB took over the minds and spirit of the east. Just 3/6 electoral cycles, and they made themselves pariahs. Rather than play inclusive, diplomatic politics, they waged war against the next president, his tribe, his religion , his party, Yorubas and anyone who would not bow before them. 2015 -2023 Buhari/APC In the midst of all this, despite the challenges, other groups are trying to unite to forge ahead. |

Chidollars1994:"Becoming"? Lol. You've been a laughing stock like forever now !!! Always stumbling from one self-inflicted disaster to another because you are emotional to the extent of predictable self-destructiveness. Who told you lot, from Professor at Harvard to Vulcaniser at Nnewi, to follow Kanu blindly and make his madness your collective ethnic project? One frigging individual for Christ sake !!! A former London Yahoo boy and drop out with no record or leading anything or anyone into success? Who does that for god sake let alone one of the biggest ethnic groups in Africa? Na madness? Did Yorubas follow, worship or canonise Sunday Igboho blindly? No. We put him in his place by saying "thanks but no thanks". You make your bed and must lay in it. That is a golden rule of life all responsible folks, bar you lot, accept. Abeg, enough of the noise and self-pity because all it shows is that you people will never learn and will still make same mistake once another charismatic Igbo hate preachers rises same as you followed Kaduna Nzeogwu, Ojukwu, Kanu etal to your detriment and doom. Here you are conveniently blaming Igbo leaders. How many times must it be repeated for wise men to accept the commonsensical observation that leaders emerge from the people and are not from Mars? Igbo leaders = Igbo people and Igbo people = Igbo leaders. All I see from your thread is the excuses, to deflect blame and avoid looking at your own flaws as human beings, Igbos are born with and have always operated with. |

What exactly do you want igbos leaders to do? To come out openly to support kanu? When those small small ESN boys were beating and killing igbos igwes and kings, you did not know they are people's relatives and some of them are supporters of kanu and these kings would have been the one to cajole Gov Hope zUzodinma to help. Yes , you heard me right. Am not from Imo but it is only Hope Uzodinma and Umah of Ebonyii that would have done something to help Kanu |

Igbos are not any laughing stock as Nnamdi Kanu has shown what it takes to be an Igbo man. Strong, resolute and uncompromising is the true nature of Ndigbo. Shame on the so called leaders, they are a disgrace both at home and away
