SECONDARY SCHOOL IS TRULY ONE OF THE STRONGEST FOUNDATIONS IN A PERSON’S LIFE! For me, attending a boarding school played a major role in shaping my discipline, character, and overall mindset. It taught me responsibility, resilience, and how to navigate life independently. Even though my first day in boarding school was a rough experience with incidents like my food items (Milo, milk, etc.) getting stolen the freedom and growth I gained away from home made the journey worth it.  I went to a day school,and people thought i'd turn out to be a scallywag.....But unfortunately,I didn't  . But I have a friend,who went to a boarding school in secondary school after our primary school....The dude later turned out to be a full time nonentity....He smokes around now,and do drugs and he even happens to be the only son of his mom....He wipes anything that's on skirt . 13 Likes |

It depends on what you are after. If you have time as a parent and the school you want your ward to go to is not very far from where you live, day school is not bad. But if you don't have time, and the school you want your wards to attend is far from where you reside, a good boarding school won't be bad. 11 Likes |

Hmmm! This is subjective! I also went to a boarding secondary school and later became a day school! 1. I believe day school is better as parents should be present in their ward's life. 2. Boarding house encourages vices like drugs, fornication, bullying, stealing, clubbing, etc as well as other good social programs like prep. night, inter room debates/competitions, religious fellowships, general sanitation trainings, etc. 25 Likes 1 Share |

Day school - you monitor your child's development and progress each day and what they are exposed to. At that formative stage you can help them grow into a proper adult Boarding school - you leave your child to the institution and peers to develop your child. All you can do is hope they turn out good. I prefer day school to boarding school With day school, parents actually see and supervise what their kids are up to. The child doesn’t just get unlimited freedom to do whatever they want. There’s guidance, boundaries, and accountability ...things many boarding students never truly get. Boarding schools, on the other hand, can be a breeding ground for all sorts of problems. Bullying is rampant, and many kids get scarred for life. Without daily parental supervision, students can easily fall into destructive behaviors like cult activities, hookups, experimenting with same-sex relationships, or just plain bad influences. Teachers can’t and won’t watch every move like a parent can. Parents often invest far more attention, care, and discipline in their children than school staff ever will. Sure, day schools have flaws too. But at least with day school, parents are there to catch problems before they spiral out of control. In a boarding school, kids are often left to figure it out themselves and we all know how dangerous that can be 7 Likes 1 Share |

Boarding Schools is a Place where BULLYING of Juniors and subordinate are learnt as an individual.  But for Day schools, you as a JSS2 Boy can tell an SS3 boy 'Your Fada' and quickly Run away.  As a JSS2 boy, you can toast an SS1 Babe and she will give you Kpomor,  which is NOT possible in boarding school.  2 Likes |

For me I still carry trauma from my boarding school days, the level of bullying is above the threshold of any normal human. Other than the ignorant bullies who mostly don't amount to anything in life, my Life is actually shaped by the Discipline and Hard work which my school adopts for motto. I've grown to be independent, sharp, analytical, above my peers and survival-driven. Boarding school experience is highly recommended. 6 Likes |

Even in my university days my parent didn't allow me stay alone, if it was time for exams I stayed with my Uncle close to school. But I must come home regularly. Most people in boarding school came in innocent. But after influence from other people, they become something else. Parental monitoring is very important in the 21 years of a child's life, at least for my case. And now I can say I am a responsible adult. 4 Likes |

Hmmm. I went to a boarding school for my secondary education. It really helped me to think and do things independently and also instilled some level of discipline (getting things done at the right time). The downsides. Exposure to a whole lot of things, decent, indecent. If you’re able to control these exposures, trust me you’ll grow up to be one person that cannot be easily swayed or moved by whatever anyone does. 7 Likes |

If you don't want your child to entertain the idea of Homosexuality, avoid boarding school. Many of today's gays were harassed by senior gays students, and out of fear of being perpetually oppressed, they gave in. I know like 3 guys it happened to. Even if you want your child to go to boarding school, let it be from SS2 6 Likes |

It depends, train your kids at home before sending them to boarding schs... And ask them if they really want to go to boarding schs.... Some of you don't ask your kids questions.... I have friends who went to boarding schs and they are now drug addicts.... They can't hold a job, many didn't complete university....
