BREAKING: WAEC Shifts Full CBT Exam to 2027!

WAEC has officially postponed the full Computer-Based Test (CBT) exam to 2027, meaning NO student will be forced to write full CBT in 2026.

For the 2026 WASSCE, students can choose:
✅ CBT format
✅ Paper & Pen format

This decision was announced by the WAEC Nigeria Committee Chairperson, Hajia Binta Abdulkadir, at the 63rd NNC Meeting in Umuahia.

I knew since from the beginning that WAEC was hasty in their decision to start a full CBT for their exams

Nice. They should start with dual method. That was how jamb started as well.

Paper and pencil
Or
CBT

The decision to implement a full CBT was obviously ill-timed and hastily done. They knew they were heading for massive disaster if they had continued with the decision. Even by 2027, a large percentage of candidates will still not be adequately prepared. Where are the facilities in our schools?
