In Nigeria Justice Is Not For Igbos - Senator Abaribe by shortgun(op): 9:22am On Nov 21, 2025
"We Are Not Suprised" Abaribe Reacts To Nnamdi Kanu’s Conviction.

Former Senate Minority Leader, Enyinnaya Abaribe, has bemoaned the conviction and sentencing of Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the proscribed Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB) for terrorism, saying that the outcome was foretold and not surprising.

Reacting through a statement by his Media Adviser, Uchenna Awom, the Senator said that the life jail handed down to Kanu was a preconceived plot that is not surprising to the Igbo nation and other right thinking Nigerians.

Abaribe said that at the time the Federal Government refused to factor in pleadings to extend the amnesty to Nnamdi Kanu as done to some others, we knew that today’s outcome was imminent.’

“Is it not an irony that negotiations and peace deals with rampaging terrorists in the North East, North West were gleefully initiated by the Local government, States and Federal Government just like the amnesty to ex-militants in the South South, who were rewarded with lucrative oil pipeline contracts. This is to say that justice in Nigeria is not for the South East”, Abaribe said.

So we are not surprised, our people can only endure and hope for a time justice in Nigeria would become the sine qua non. We have done our best , we have variously made the case for the authorities to be circumspect and at least accede to pardon for the sake of unity and inclusiveness,” the lawmaker said.

Senator Abaribe nonetheless declared that the Igbo nation is now left with no other option than to place her fate in this matter squarely on the desk of President Bola Tinubu.

“We ask the Igbo nation and other lovers of Nigeria to remain calm, pray and not take the law into their hands.

“May Nigeria succeed, thrive and advance in Justice, Equity and Fairness”, Abaribe added.

"May Nigeria succeed, thrive and advance in Justice, Equity and Fairness”—Abaribe

These words carry a strong message, Nigeria will only succeed in justice and equity

Thank you Great Senator Abaribe.
In a bid to keep the Igbos down, Nigeria has held herself down.
Igbos are antagonized, left, right, and center.
Nigeria is a mess; they say Igbos do not like Nigeria. Igbos are high-bred people who are tired of wasting time with a country not making any progress; they are simply fed up, like any sane person would be about Nigeria. The contraption is not working!

Nigeria has continued to show Igbos hate, double standards and Igbos will continue to return the favors, only a delusional person will love his oppressors!

The other day a serving military general was brutally murdered in the North, I waited for the army to go burn down the villages there and kill innocent civilians in retaliation as they usually do in the east and south south but nothing of such happened.

The new generation of Igbos are not as forgiving and as peaceful as our fathers were. This generation will not seat back and only complain, this generation will not be victims

Justice, equity and fairness? The last time anyone saw all three of them in Nigeria was October 1st 1960

Nobody has seen them since then, and nobody ever will

Said a failed senator, who has no single meaningful project to his name rather than wearing Biafra clothes during election to deceive his gullible supporters.

Abaribe is making sense here.

The Igbo's fate now lies in the hands of President Tinubu.

Let the politicking stop, it's time for the Igbos to come together and support their son to succeed

When that doesn’t work again, they call on US, UN, UK, EU, e.t.c.

Imagine the whole Igbo race couldn’t put up a formidable legal team to defend their cause. Instead, their untrained terrorist son started displaying mental instability in Court. Same way they lined up clowns and court sleepers for the Presidential Election tribunal

One of the useless senators who profited from Kanu's foolishness... for his own election.
Re: In Nigeria Justice Is Not For Igbos - Senator Abaribe by FreeStuffsNG:
He has been in government since 1999! First as Deputy Governor to HE OUK and now rounding off his second decade in the senate with nothing to show for the billions of taxpayers paid to feed , cloth and take care of him. He has no other job apart from government offices.

Go to his community in Abia State and check his awful record in public service first then come back and read his hypocrisy.

He is part of the people who turned the convict into a monster who devours his own people.

Even BBC reported that the South-East sighed with relief.

The revelation with incontrovertible facts beyond reasonable doubt that prove the terrorist Kanu's terrorism crime led to wanton death of innocent people and destruction of properties, mostly suffered by his own Igbo people, was particularly too sobering for the South-East yesterday. It's like #metoo movement again as many yesterday were jolted back to reality of remembering the loss of their loved ones and properties to his terrorist attacks.

If Nnamdi Kanu was not convicted openly yesterday with incontrovertible facts beyond every reasonable doubt that disgraced even those who joined him to dance on the graves of his own people who were largely his victims, another generation of liars would have packaged all his mental case lies and fed it to another generation in the South-East who would later grow up with hatred and bitterness for other Nigerians, especially the Yoruba and Fulani.

The macabre dance of shame on the graves of his victims has ended.

It is clearly evident that the hand of God is on Nigeria for blessing us with such a God-fearing Judge like Justice James Omotosho. He was above board.

What the senator is saying is simple.
Extend this same energy to terrorists and bandits

It's not simple. He didn’t secure his people when he was in government and as a Senator, he was supporting a terrorist who killed his own people. He should cover his eyes in shame. I am no longer surprised to know why since 1999 he has been the one representing his people. Show me your friend and I will tell you who you are.

With irresponsible hypocrisy from him that is insensitive to the families and families of victims killed by the terrorism of Kanu as stated in the judgment, FG will soon appeal the judgment and demand for death sentence.

grin grin

The Senator is actully loved in the East because he seem to be the only leader who actually understand how Nigeria works.
You think the governors in the states were bandits operate from don't know them or give them protection. We have seen governors openly negotiating with armed terrorists.

The oba who threatened to kill Igbos if they don't vote for APC wasn't he shielded by his people in government?
What about MC oluomo was he not defended by the police?
If governments can protect criminals in their various states why are you angry that same thing is done for an Easterner?
You can't protect your own criminals and expect me not to do same
