I know people are quick to point out that terrorists should not be negotiated with. But the truth is that sometimes negotiations and amnesty can defeat terroristm even more effectively than through endless fight. Even isreal had to negotiate with Hamas after 2 long years. Another case is Naija delta militants, without amnesty the fight would probably not have ended.
Weakness can never defeat strength

Negotiating with terrorist without seizing their weapons is baseless and useless as a useless country

isreal was on a position of strength. they showed strength that the terrorist had to come down to negotiate. what we have here is that the nigeria state made of the people are in position of weakness. thats why they have to beg thje terrorist and allow them to go away with their guns, In factm whats happpening now is that the terrorist are now offering mining jobs to these people and are force to work as slave.

I suggest Hausa army to guard the north, south south army to guard south south, Yoruba army to guard south west and Igbos army to guard the east just for one year let check something, this terrorism is growing day by day

Meanwhile, I’m proud of this guy, he’s so lucky he don’t have someone like PUTIN as his president

Strength that couldn't defeat a ragtag terror group like Hamas. They are still in power today in Gaza and they have not demiliterized. You think Isreal wanted to negotiate with Hamas, they had no choice. Sometimes military action can only get you so far, but it is only through dialogue that you can achieve our lasting peace. It is a difficult pill to swallow, but a necessary one.

As in, i really don't understand the north. How do you use people as collateral damage for power games?
The same security playbook used on GEJ is at work here. They were initially thinking inflation, dollar and fuel subsidy removal would overwhelm the government. But it didn't. Instead the president has everything in his grip with improvements in security.
Suddenly, there's intense and televised insecurity. Because power should not go to the south for 8years. You'd think the North was Eldorado with all the power hunger.
People are deliberately indoctrinated to breed irresponsibly and not go to school.
Great recipe for chaos along with borders like the ones below. Imagine lekki toll gate having better border control. It's a sick joke.

For those myrmidons asking for the president to resign, they think if he resigns, Obikererenke or the dubai man will be next? Constitutionally, the next in line is the Vice president, use your heads. If by some miracle he also resigns, it's the number 3 man next.
And the unthinking ones asking for military rule, maybe they think it's Colonel Emeka or General Chukwu that'll be head of state. clownish thinkers.
U r gradually losing it.

What is stopping the Federal government from outlawing states and councils from negotiating with bandits.

Why is there no Federal law against this.
Is it because of political expediency,?

Why is action against criminality so lopsided across various substrates of the country.

If gunmen were running amock in either the west, east or south, there will be police and military solutions. But up north the Federal government appears unable to reach the grassroots where the criminality is hottest.

Why.

If southern states decide to make peace deals with IPOB, ESN or various armed group operating in the Niger - Delta will such hold water at the Ministry of Justice in Abuja.

Exactly what is happening.

It seems there are different set of rules or law for different people in this nation. One terrorist was jailed for life another free to negotiate.

The negotiation was not for them to lay down their arms, that's why.
They know what they are doing, so that the can make use of them in for their personal political issues to settle scores with their frienemies.....

There is no country in the world that has successfully dealt with terrorism without some form of negotiations, amnesty and room for rehabilitation. It is a painful pill to swallow, but a necessary one.

The US didn't defeat Taliban in Afghanistan after 20 years of fighting, Isreal too didn't defeat Hamas, because they are still in power in Gaza and have not demiliterized.
My friend, your analogies are nothing but silly lies and like I said earlier, you can only keep telling that to kindergarten kids like yourself. Israel didn’t negotiate with the terorrist Hamas because they couldn’t defeat them like it is with Nigeria, they reached the agreement due to pressures and cries from international bodies and the overwhelming wailings from people like you (terrorists’ lovers and sympathizers)
The Hamas terrorists resorted to telling lies that Israel was killing babies and women to garner international sympathy. In fact, it was Hamas that were threatened by Trump to accept the offers on Israeli terms to end the Israeli onslaught on them. Unless you want to keep deceiving yourself, their fight was never a fair 50-50 fight. I can remember him (Trump) telling them that he wouldn’t pressure Israel to stop if they (Hamas) failed to accept the truce. Who do you think you are talking to?
Again, no country in the world wins terrorism warfare by Negotiation. China won the war against the Uyghur Muslims using high-handedness the same way the US and India ended AlQaeda and Harkat-ul-Mujahideen (known for hijacking planes in India) respectively through the use of the language terrorist best understand.
Russia is another notable country know for not negotiating with terrorists because it just doesn’t work.
Now that I’ve listed a couple serous countries that don’t believe in negotiating with terrorists and it worked for them, can you give us a list of countries that negotiated with terrorists and are now enjoying lasting peace ever since?

Bandits wey them suppose don bomb.
These terrorists don't even pretend to kill quranic teachers or kidnap quranic students just to pass false sentiments that they are not religiously motivated in their terrorism. But hell nah, every time churches and Christians. Bloody terrorists. God will punish these terrorists, their sympathisers and their sponsors
You're just sore your fake Christian genocide narrative is unraveling.

Those of us who have lived in the north before bandits began knows that Hausa will entertain and relax with the lowest of the lowest as long as he speaks their language.

Negotiating with bandits is like good evening to them
