It's political kidnapping. It was done to perpetuate the genocide narrative and embarrass the government ahead of its engagement with US.

Same week Ribadu left for the US on official assignments caused by the distraction of Trump.

All the enemies of Nigeria will lose las las. They always lose. God bless Nigeria for ever!
Abeggi, stop all these rantings.

Your Mandate Thief has failed because he came without blueprint. God is disgracing him.

Let's see how he's going to survive All these Wahala.

Tinubu should sack his NSA asap and appoint a thoroughbred well versed retired army general with field experience in anti terrorism. Ribadu lacks combatant experience and his personal interest as a politician outrightly disqualifies him from the sensitive position he currently occupies. He never been in charge of any command save the efcc. His promotion to aig was even conferred on him while on exile. Heading and controling an anti corruption unit is totally different from controling the country's security ecosystem.
Well said 💯🙏

I suggest a thorough bred officer like Maj General Danjuma Ali-Keffi, ex GOC 1 Div Kaduna is suitable for the Job. He lost his job because he was all out against the insurgents.

The Military hierarchy retired him because he was going after the insurgents and their sponsors.

He is ideal for the Job.

Please stop the spin. The President at no time denied kidnapping occurred and even canceled an official assignments overseas to attend to the matter.

Those mentally weak enough to believe that the criminals in the North differentiate between people of different faiths will believe anything so I will not waste my time on them.
Just like the president believed Christian genocide existed under Jonathan but elects to hide behind his finger now, what has changed? Muslims were also being killed when he supported the claims of a Christian genocide in Nigeria. I get it that It's all about political expediency and not about moral consciousness. I threw my support for Tinubu in 2023, even against my state indigene contesting as well because of party affiliation, but I had to draw a line between morality and political affinity. It's such a pity if people we think should know better because of their seeming grasp are now bandying excuses and making false claims just because we need a new genocide definition. I hope you go to Ikura or kafanchan or yelwatta and announce to the distressed congregants what burning down churches and shooting and abducting congregants amount to when it isn't an inter church rivalry attacks.

But will the president choose someone of that ilk with that kind of no nonsense history? The present NSAs appointment was essentially a political balancing act. That's all.

Hmmmm

You have said it all.

But if government will bend and allow a thorough bred professional to handle the post, there could be a change in fighting the insurgency war.

Let's see how things pan out.

You are proposing more jobs for 'the boys'.

The country we 'borrowed' the NSA idea from has appointed mostly civilians to that role for decades. There is a reason for that.

At the level of an NSA, while military experience may be a plus, it is not essential to delivering results. At the level of an NSA it is your brainpower and the brain trust you assemble that makes the difference. There is nothing to indicate that this country's retired soldiers possess the knowledge, skills and experience to deliver on that front.

We have had ex military as NSAs for years. As we can all see, it didn't work - and of course, appointing ex police won't work either.

This country's immediate threat (as we are all aware) is the violence from non-state actors (Boko Haram, Lakurawa, ISWAP, rogue herdsmen etc.). That is what gets headlines because it is present and it is real. That is what prompts the (misguided) clamour for retired soldiers to lead the security effort. But it is a grave, grave error to reduce the NSA role to stopping just these actors. The NSA role is (or should be) far, far wider.

As far as I am aware, this country hasn't even started thinking of the threats to national food security posed by GMO seedlings and 'big agric', bio-terrorism etc. Those threats are real too and the signs are already showing up here. This is the sort of thing that NSAs in other countries have volumes of info on. How many retired generals in this country are clued in on this? undecided

Quest7777:
Tinubu does not even have any comprehensive plan or blueprint to fight Boko Haram and Banditry.

To him, fighting them will amount to stepping on toes of Northerners, which he lacks the will to do.
He has prepared Nnamdi Kanu as a sacrificial offering to the Sokoto caliphate........you have to give it to the hellish apparition in Aso rock.....he knows his naija dirty politics but it will end in shame and ignominy for Tinubu...........

Your submission is very informative. But pray, where will he get the kind of brain that would saddle the role effectively and deliver efficiently? Definitely not from the same pool that is blinded by political partisanship rather than by being led by fervent patriotism for the fatherland. That is why I proposed a retd general, not just because it's being the convention, but because they're less political and would command more respect in the course of their engagements.
