Breaking news

Good news for the super eagles of Nigeria as World Football governing body FIFA is set to disqualify D.R Congo for fielding an ineligible player in England born right back Wan Bisaka who was never cleared by FIFA to represent D.R Congo but he played.

The match will be awarded to the super eagles of Nigeria 🇳🇬 as a result of D.R Congo fielding an ineligible player.

As it stands Nigeria 🇳🇬 will be heading to the playoffs final where they will face either New Caledonia or Jamaica

Good news ... 😂 😂 😂 😂 😂 ... Nigerians

Nigerians aren’t giving up by knocking on back doors to get to the World Cup.
Try your best next time to win on the pitch so you won’t have to invent imaginary stories to find a way in.

And how many “back doors” is Nigeria planning to use to get to a World Cup, exactly? Come on… leave those escape hatches for teams like Madagascar, DR Congo, Angola, or Zambia — not for a country that keeps calling itself a “football powerhouse.”

Let’s rewind for a moment.

First, Eritrea pulled out of the qualifiers, which shifted the table and conveniently put Nigeria in the “best second-placed” conversation. That was already an unexpected shortcut falling into your lap — and yet it still wasn’t enough.

Then there was the game against DR Congo. The officiating had everyone talking — plenty of decisions looked unusually generous to Nigeria — and even with that, qualification still didn’t happen.

On top of that, some were claiming that if DR Congo didn’t qualify, FIFA would magically “call Nigeria” to fill some imaginary tenth African slot. This is the same pattern — entitlement, as if Nigeria must be at the World Cup one way or another, even if it means hoping for loopholes that don’t exist.

Now you’re talking about FIFA suspending DRC, yet there’s not even a single official FIFA source to back this up.

Stop this sense of entitlement. Nigeria didn’t make it to the World Cup — simple. No shortcuts, no fantasies, no excuses. Just accept it and move on.

lol... lol.... lol

And seriously — how can a nation that calls itself a “football powerhouse” not feel even a little ashamed for constantly trying to exploit back doors?

Winning on the pitch, earning it the hard way, is what builds true respect. Chasing imaginary shortcuts only shows entitlement, not strength. If Nigeria wants to be a real powerhouse, the first step is learning to lose gracefully and stop looking for loopholes.

Nigeria never change. We always come up with a consoling story that is a big fat lie after loosing a crucial football match.
Believe this story then you believe things.
I remember when Nigeria lost in USA '94 to Italy a solar story came up but last last na lie
I have given up on Nigerian football and any since then. I watch football being neutral

I dont understand...how do national teams field players that are not eligible? Do FIFA not clear them before matches?

I dont understand...how do national teams field players that are not eligible? Do FIFA not clear them before matches?
1. FIFA Eligibility Rules

FIFA’s rules say a player can represent a national team if they meet one of these:
Born in the country, or
Have a parent or grandparent born in the country, or
Have lived in the country for a minimum of 5 years after turning 18.
Additionally, if a player has already played for one country in a competitive senior match, they usually need FIFA approval to switch allegiance before playing for another country.

2. How National Teams Field Players

Before a match, the national federation submits a squad list to FIFA for official competitions.
For players who have previously represented another country, the federation must include FIFA’s clearance documentation.
FIFA doesn’t “check every player manually” before kickoff; they rely on federations to follow the rules and submit the proper paperwork.

3. What Can Go Wrong

Sometimes, federations make mistakes or assumptions, for example:
A player switches allegiance, but the paperwork isn’t fully processed yet.
A federation misinterprets eligibility rules.
An administrative oversight — the player is called up without proper clearance.

If that happens, FIFA can:

Declare the player ineligible.
Award the match to the opposing team, or impose other sanctions.

4. Key Point

It’s not automatic. FIFA relies on federations to do their part.
Mistakes are rare at top levels because lawyers and officials handle eligibility, but they do happen occasionally.

Rumors about ineligible players sometimes spread without official confirmation, like what you’ve seen with Wan‑Bissaka.

Nonsense.

Rules are in place for a reason. No one asked DR Congo to break the rules.

Afterall, Nigeria sort clearance before fielding Ndidi.

I just did a quick confirmation and apparently you are correct. I see even south Africa is under investigation also for also fielding an ineligible player against Lesotho.

You have posted fake news in the past though. grin

But I apologize for not confirming before tagging your thread fake.

I don't think Nigeria deserves a spot at the WC if this plays out in their favor!
Are you saying, South Africa fielded an ineligible player against Lesotho again?

Wow, Nigerian forums really have the scoop on African football! I’ve been searching everywhere else, but apparently only here do we learn that South Africa or DR Congo fielded ineligible players.

So, are you guys the secret FIFA news outlet, or is the rest of the world just not paying attention?

Curious to hear how you always manage to break these stories first!

A guy created an account on Nairaland solely to report that Mokoena of South Africa has accumulated two yellow cards and was therefore ineligible against Lesotho on the Super Eagles thread, then he deactivated the account. From nairaland,it spread out like wild fire till it got to the NFF,CAF and FIFA.

Nigerians are smart people.

I know what i saw on AI after searching.

The player in question was cleared by FIFa on August 22, 2025 to play for Congo DR.
