No
allthingsgood:
US doest not make jokes about invasion. They have already despatched Nicki Minaj and other US politicians to start laying the ground work.

Do U think Trump just woke up to start making threats. This is something that has been long in the pipeline. The way the Nigerian economy is growing recently is a huge threat to the US. They are afraid that Nigeria may become the China of Africa.
If you are right then why give them grounds to intervene in your life?
Foolishness? Cluelessness?

Did Trump say he is coming to invade Nigeria or eliminate the terrorists that almost killed this white-haired bitter double-mouth man. There are too many people giving Yorubas bad names unfortunately

What is sovereignty with mass adoption of our innocent children from schools, invasion of churches to kill and kidnapped, you can't travel by road freely, terrorist walk free in major cities even attending wedding and other social functions...?
It's true bro. We don't have a sovereign nation.

Does Soyinka understand the situation of things himself?

This is not about English or literature, this is about
life, real life.

This is about trauma to the victims and the relations.
This is about terminating the lives of unarmed
people causing them no hope in the den.

Prof should pls shut up. He's there in his mansion watching TV while thousands of people are they in a captive area with no light, watching others been killed, raped and torture before Thier eyes..

Ever since Tinubu emerged, he has not said anything about FG.

Why wouldn't Soyinka condemn it when Trump denied him visa? Had it been he was given visa, he wouldn't have condemned it. Trump should not waste time any longer, because the less he waste time, the more those bastards are committing a lot of atrocities.

He really misses that country.
Oga shut up, what have you done to protect life and properties of the victims of terrorism in Nigeria?

We don't have a sovereign nation. Na for mouth. Ask yourself are the citizens free from insecurities. NO. so what's the use of a sovereign nation when it's citizens are not free in their own country?

You guys are now condemning it because it is becoming popular to do so. Some of us did so when he made the comment. International law is clear and Nigeria is a sovereign country. We must learn to speak up for the right thing, even when it is not popular. Trump had no right to threaten us.

Kudos to Wole Soyinka for standing up against any form of foreign intervention.
So what's the local intervention from your government doing so far to stop the attacks of bandits and terrorists?

Ah. Good that he's found his voice on Nigerian matters
What does he have to say about the 269 children abducted in 2 days
Thank you my brother. All this while there have been atrocities committed by terrorists and bandits, wole Soyinka haven't come out to condemn the act but when he heard about Trump bringing his troops to Nigeria that's when he found his voice. Heartless people we have in this country. Same thing goes to Asari Dokubo and Reno Omokri.
Re: Soyinka Condemns Donald Trump Over Threat Of U.S. Military Intervention by lilsmart(m): 3:10pm On Nov 22, 2025
Please who is Soyinka and what is his contribution into the life of the common man in Nigeria?
what is his contribution into Nigeria Society?

Where was his voices when our fellow citizens are being killed and kidnapped? When he was needed to use his massive platforms to speak truth to power or to demand action, they are often missing. They will not speak on our behalf, so they should keep their lives to themselves.

Their silence about the hardship, insecurity, unemployment, favoritism, etc..... is a message in itself. It tells us that they are not ready to contribute anything meaningful to the society that gave them fame and fortune. Not even the bare minimum to just lend their voice.

Let us channel our energy and outrage there, and leave these celebrities to their personal, inconsequential affairs.

IT IS ASTONISHING HOW PROF SOYINKA HAS CHANGED HIS GARMENT FROM THAT OF A NATIONALIST TO THAT OF AN ARCH-TRIBALIST! HOW CAN A MAN WILLINGLY DIVE FROM A GLORIOUS HEIGHT OF PATRIOTISM INTO THE HORRIBLE PIT OF TRIBALISM? THIS IS TRAGIC AND MOURNFUL! WE EMPATHISE AND SYMPATHISE WITH THE TOWERING VOICE OF YESTERDAY!

THE BEST WAY ANYBODY CAN EXPRESS LOVE AND CARE FOR TINUBU IS TO TELL HIM THE TRUTH AND PRAY FOR HIM FOR GOD'S WISDOM AND GRACE TO SHAPE HIS PERCEPTIONS, DECISIONS, AND ACTIONS. HIDING THE TRUTH FROM TINUBU WITH A BARRIER OF SYCHOPHANCY IS HATRED AND NOT LOVE.

IT IS IN THE INTEREST OF EVERYONE THAT PEACE SHOULD RETURN TO NIGERIA THROUGH THE INSTRUMENTALITIES OF JUSTICE, FAIRNESS, EQUITY, ACCOUNTABILITY, AND RESPONSIBILITY, WHICH ARE THE HALLMARKS OF POSITIVE TRANSFORMATIONAL GOVERNANCE. WE SHOULD NOT BE WEARY OF PRAYING! NIGERIA MUST NOT FALL OR FAIL, I PRAY IN CHRIST JESUS' NAME, AMEN!

We won't be in this helpless predicament if your commander in chief was alive to his responsibility as a president!
Have you demanded that Tinubu secures the country from terrorists just like you demanded from GEJ and additionally insulted the former president?
When the current apc group had asked Obama administration to rescue them, did you question obama for being nosey in Nigeria's affair?
Double standard man!

HgAkpobomeEr:
Soyinka's response is spot on. No self-respecting nation should welcome the idea of foreign troops on its soil.
Let me paint a scenario for you: Your house is burning with your family inside and your lives are under threat so your Landlord has a fire extinguisher but it's not effective against the fire but someone else from another neighborhood brought his own fire extinguisher which is very very effective in dousing the fire outbreak but your landlord refused to accept the assistance from that person coming from another neighborhood. You as a person won't you be angry with the Landlord for refusing to accept the assistance of that man with a better equipment which can save the lives of your family?

Did Soyinka say the same thing when Obama was questioning the competence of the the president GEJ and also intruding on the sovereignty of Nigeria?

Everybody knows trump is a mad man.

You want to assist a country fight insecurity, instead of meeting the government officials of the country and discussing with them, you went to social media to post about invading the country.
Trump posted that statement so that the Tinubu government will sit up. He doesn't actually meant it. If he actually meant it, he would have announced it officially in the white House.
