My Colleague Thinks Governor Fubara is My Brother - Actress Seleye Fubara

Nigerian actress and filmmaker, Seleye Fubara, has come out to clear the air that she is not related to Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara.

The actress said when Siminalayi Fubara became Governor, lots of her colleagues in the movie industry congratulated her, thinking the Governor is her brother.

She said they even call her "Governor's sister" because she and the Governor bear the same surname.

Speaking to publicist Dave of Africa, the actress said she and Governor Fubara are not related and not even from the same Local Government Area in Rivers State, she is from Asari-Toru LGA, while the Governor is from Opobo/Nkoro LGA.

"Lots of people think I and Governor Fubara are related, but the truth is we are not even from the same Local Government.

"We just bear the same surname because we are both from the Ijaw ethnic group. It's common for Ijaw people who are not related or even from the same state to have the same surname."

She said anyone who wants to call her "Governor's sister" is free to do so because the Governor is her Ijaw brother.

She also advised the Governor to look into the entertainment and tourism sectors in Rivers State, saying they can generate more revenue for the state.

Truly, you guys look alike. Better still adopt him.
