Obviously, legally speaking, Nnamdi Kanu was ill-advised and misled. It is good Ifeanyi Ejiofor is speaking before more damage is done.

If there was a criminal accusation against you whether real or trumped up, the onus is on you to engage a good lawyer to defend you with vital evidence and witnesses and most importantly with deep respect for the court and its judicial process. And if you believe there is no way out of the case, seek a deal with the prosecutorial authority. Refusing to defend yourself, insulting the judge and making mockery of the process was a very wrong move. The theatrical self-representation against repeated advice by the judge and senior lawyers was always going to backfire.

However, at the end of the day, Nnamdi Kanu will be released but he must be ready to be advised and guided by competent, experienced and respected lawyers because there will be critical give and take (concessions and where necessary compromises). He needs no-nonsense lawyers he will listen to as unlearned client and not clout-chasing lawyers who adore him as a hero.

Well, kanu can appeal to reopen his case citing ineffective representation .

Maybe if the Appeal Court is considerate , they can rule on a mistrial based on incompetent representation .

But that won't set aside the current conviction tho.

Kanu should then be able to enter a plea bargain and plead to lesser crimes and if his allowed in court show humility .

Kanu sabotaged himself but with much help from his own personal circles in his DOS whom he announced their sack on air a day before he travelled to Kenya.

Even Ekpa had a hand in Kanu's current predicament as he was the one who falsely accused Ejiofor of sleeping with Kanu's wife .

I recall the reason KANU sacked his entire DoS was over money.

Ekpa himself was announced by Kanu as his replacement and that one didn't help matters as he did everything to ensure IPOB became visibly a criminal terrorist organization.

As for Kanu's last set of lawyers who were reporting falsely fake narrative of court proceedings on Social media , despite the judge warning them severally from posting false information regarding the trial, those ones made Agabi to resign out of frustration following their disobedience to court proceedings and order from the bench.

The guy and the rest of the clowns claiming lawyers, where just there to grab the spotlight, create content and display the highest level of shamelessness that shouldn't be associated with the legal profession. I don't know why the NBAhasn't derobed him by now but I believe soon they will, for the disgrace he has brought to them.

He was guilty of the offence. No amount of theatrics or maneuvers were going to change the outcome of the trial. There was enough evidence. He then went further to display his uncivilised nature in court.
