The actual people who really need these monies will be affected.. cause if the donors find out the sums went into the wrong hands, they might not want to donate to any other charity groups or whatever, it will also discourage others who might want to help out in situations like this, but no, that is of no concern to our naijs brothers. their Inexhaustible greed can never be satisfied, they want all the money in the world without actually working for it..they prefer to scam unsuspecting people outta their hard earned money, most of these yahoo guys won't even spend wisely,. Only to buy expensive cars, a few plots of land, here and there, sell back the properties after a few years or even months sometimes, sling booze, smoke cana and the rest, carry big nyash from one hotel to another,. The only thing I think he could be charged with is collaboration with criminals, but he's already said he does what he does with "approval", so that's a closed door.

It's near impossible to prove incitement with the things he says. Annoying, evil and silly...but not necessarily incitement.

Islamic cleric, Sheikh Ahmad Gumi, has threatened to take legal action against human rights lawyer, Malcolm Emokiniovo Omirhobo, over what he described as defamatory allegations capable of inciting religious tension in Nigeria.

In a post shared on his official Facebook page on Thursday, Gumi demanded that Omirhobo retract his statement and issue an “unreserved apology” within 48 hours or face a lawsuit for defamation and incitement.


The threat comes in response to a statement issued earlier by Omirhobo, titled “Terrorism Apology Is a Crime, Government Must Investigate and Prosecute Sheikh Ahmad Gumi,” in which the lawyer accused the cleric of “publicly justifying and defending terrorists” and called for his arrest and prosecution by security agencies.

In the statement, Omirhobo cited provisions of the 1999 Constitution, the Terrorism (Prevention and Prohibition) Act, 2022, and the Criminal Code Act, arguing that Gumi’s comments and visits to bandit camps amounted to support for terrorism and posed a threat to national security.

This is Gumi on November 6th 2025 threatening to sue a senior lawyer who called him for supporting terrorism and urging government to investigate & prosecute Gumi.

Human rights lawyer, Malcolm Emokiniovo Omirhobo, has refused to apologise to Kaduna-based Islamic cleric, Sheikh Ahmad Gumi, after being given a 24-hour ultimatum to withdraw his comments that called for Gumi’s investigation.

In a statement shared on Facebook on Friday, titled “Sheikh Gumi, I Did Not Defame You—Let’s Meet in Court,” Omirhobo said he stood by his words and would not retract them.

The lawyer explained that his earlier statement was not defamatory, but a call made in the public interest and protected by the Nigerian Constitution

“For the avoidance of doubt, my statement is not defamatory. It is a constitutionally protected comment made in national interest, based on facts and the law,” he said.

Reaffirming his position, the lawyer said no one is above the law, no matter their religious or social status. “I stand by my statement. I won’t take it back. No individual, cleric or otherwise, is above the law,” Omirhobo said.

He also called on the government to take the issue seriously, noting that defending or excusing terrorists is dangerous and should not be ignored.

“Anyone who defends or justifies the actions of terrorists is raising serious national security concerns that deserve investigation,” he added.

The lawyer doubled down on his position on Gumi by further refusing to retract his earlier statement urging Gumi to go to court if he feels his comments are defamatory(which they are not).

Today is 24th November and Gumi is yet to make his way to court to sue the lawyer. But one clown here says Gumi would sue us for calling Gumi what he is.
