How many times will they withdraw Police from VIP in this country??
Since this president took office in 2023, they have ordered this withdrawal of police from VIP several times. The IGP don order like 2 or 3 times and now the president is ordering same.

Funny thing is by this weekend if u go to parties, u will still see Mopol attached to some VIPs that will either help them carry bag or stand behind them throughout duration of their stay at the party.

I wonder who has been approval those postings.

The double standard. Is good you are calling out Gumi almost everyday for saying nonsense which I also believe he is saying nonsense. I don't take him serious.

But also called out the person you supported to become president for saying IPOB are not terrorists and FG should not use force.

Always balance your views. The other day you rushed here to post a news saying Igbo man's shop was taken away in the North because he is Igbo.

We didn't see you post anything when another Igbo man cried out in Lagos that his shop was the only one destroyed because he is Igbo.

The other day you said you don't really know what's happening in South South states like that Destroyy has a better understanding than you because he stays in the South South but you have more knowledge about North than me that stays in the North about Northern states.
It's well known that Gumi acts as a middleman between the families of kidnap victims and the bandits...do you believe that Gumi benefits from the criminal acts of these bandits, or he's doing what he does simply out of the goodness of his heart?

Your pain is eternal my guy!

You are always here fooolishly defending the government and political appointees even when they are clearly in the wrong. Even when we show you hard irrefutable facts, you will still carry strong head to be yapping nonsense and talking out of points.

Only a dumb person who has sublet his reasoning faculty will leave the present leadership of the country that has driven the country into a comatose state and be criticizing the member of opposition not in power. The job of the opposition is to counter the inadequacies of the incumbent government and that is the business we will continue to stand on. If you are displeased with that, u can donate ur eyes to scientist for research for all I care.
If the Northerners were really serious about ending insecurity, they will first take laws into their hands and catch Gumi.

What's not inciting about someone who encourages ransom payments, and will use his voice to discourage apprehending these bandits?

Let them keep pampering Gumi

One day, all of them will relocate to the South. E remain small

The same Bandit that killed an ACP in Katsina state, took his uniform, and even wore his uniform to a Peace negotiations meeting

This is the same Bandits Gumi is defending

We will be very fine in this country!

Don't mind them, let them keep feeding the cub of a lion till it turns into Simba in their very eyes.

Imagine someone asking me to Gumi is inciting; someone who encourages ransom payment when the Government preaches the exact opposite. Someone who keep shouting his voice hoarse that government should stop going on the offensive against the terrorist because according to him they are freedom fighters and his brothers.

Someone who even justifies kidnapping of kids as bargaining chip for ransom payment. Nothing wey the guy never do to whitewash image of terrorists while talking down on government's effort to deal with the criminals with force.

I just don't know how a normal human being will continue to stan someone like that and claim he is only talking nonsense but not inciting .

Omo! nothing person no go see for here sha.

This is a good move by the Government if it is followed through, i said this a while back that NSCDC officers should be solely responsible for protecting VIPs, while the Police face their primary duty of fighting crime.

I didn't say it's not a good move, but we are saying they've been announcing this same thing for a while now.

Let's hope they will effect it once and for all this time around. Ordinary MC Oluomo has a number of policemen attached to him even when he was Lagos state chairman of NURTW, now imagine the amount of policemen he would have at his disposal now that he is the national president.

If VIPs need security, they should employ private security...NSCDC was not setup to provide protection to VIPs.

If you have an issue with someone (especially when you are sure that this person wants to deal with you) and the police invites you on a Friday, this is what you must do

✅ don’t go

✅Tell them you are out of town or scheduled to attend a very important meeting

✅ Tell them to reschedule to the next week and you will be there

✅ Alternatively, go with your lawyer.

Why am I saying this; I have witnessed instances when a suspect (usually in a business transaction) is invited by the police on Friday and when the person comes, the police will delay and eventually charge the suspect to the magistrate court later in the afternoon. The idea is to charge the person to court when the court is almost about to close (over night case).

The court will hear the case and grant the person bail, before the person will perfect his bail or fulfill the conditions of bail, the court may have close and the only option is to take the person to prison till Monday of the following week (the Court will not be aware of this thing). This is how a lot of people have spent their weekend in prison without the court knowledge.

This one is street survival sense, no be law.

Nigeria na comedy show Sha. Imagine the kind word wey dey come out of IGP mouth.

Make everybody just hold their side well well and hope tbey won't be victims of these terrorists o, because Justice will never be served under this government wey we dey so
There are some asiri that those in authority can't tell you, but their actions and utterances will reveal to you. The one revealed here is that the situation is completely, utterly, and totally out of their control and there is no solution in and out of sight. That is what the IGP just magnanimously revealed.

Think of it. How can you arrest and prosecute the kidnapper bandits of today after negotiating with and paying them off when you still have to UNFAILINGLY negotiate with and pay off the kidnapper bandits of tomorrow.

Why do you think most arrest are on Friday, it's because the person will spend the weekend in cell

He doesn't have any goodness of heart. He might be benefiting, we might not know. This is a good case if FG can prove that and got him arrested but unfortunately FG are also negotiating with them. So FG are to be blamed

Exactly, nature abhors a vacuum. The government has failed to provide security to people, they've also failed to handle kidnap cases, leaving victims to their fate...what's then left is for people like Gumi, leveraging his experience as ex-force and influence within the criminal underworld, to provide a strange solution to the kidnapping problem.

With or without Gumi, as long as government fails to do their job of providing security, these bandits (kidnappers and murders) would still find a way to wreck havoc.
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Theflint1(m): 11:13am On Nov 24, 2025
When Gumi says Bandits are different from IPOB, he's right. Bandits are also quite different from Boko Haram, ISWAP, ANSARU and the likes, because while IPOB, Boko Haram, ISWAP and the likes operate with some form of ideology, bandits are in it solely for financial gains.

The designation of criminal elements with monikers has become a way for the police to avoid the job of resolving simple acts of crime. Normal criminals that are kidnapping and robbing people, they'd give them one special name...Bandits or Unknown Gun Men to make it look bigger than it actually is and eventually it does.

This is the same reason why all sort of criminals in the South East get easy pass for crimes hiding under IPOB (there's been instances where they've denied involvement in the crimes of kidnapping and robbery in the South East). So while members from IPOB might also be committing crimes, there's also several persons that commit crimes on their own, but it gets attributed to IPOB...intelligence gathering is a huge part of the fight against crime, and it's clear that there's very little intelligence involved in Nigeria's approach to crime.

This is very true and accurate.

I know someone whom police something similar to recently. He bought a stolen phone from a lady without suspecting any foul play; he then sold same phone to another third party because he deals in buying and selling phones at Ikeja. Owner of the phone tracked the phone to the new owner who mentioned our guy as the seller, when our guy was arrested, he also mentioned the lady as the person he bought phone from without knowing it is a stolen phone.

Despite police confirming the lady was the original thief, they still held the guy and asked for 800k as bail money. When the guy's family couldn't provide the money, they summarily charged him to court on the Friday of that week with the hope of punishing him severely.

The guy was saved by a stroke of luck; his mum came from Church to courtroom wearing her celestial garment. The magistrate had earlier saw the guy's mum within the premises and greeted her "Halleluyah o" as a typical celestial herself. When the case was read and she saw same woman on her garment in her court room, she was immediately interested in the case. When she read the case filed by the police IPO, it claimed the guy was the one who stole the phone which is untrue. The guy was given audience by the magistrate to state his case after which the magistrate lambasted the police IPO for his dishonesty and attempt to frame the guy for a crime which they already caught the culprit.

The magistrate discharged and acquitted him that Friday afternoon and he didn't a dime.

The guy would've rotted away in prison on awaiting trial. Once the magistrate orders his remand that day and adjourn a later date, e don be for the guy be that. The IPO will not go to court again and the magistrate to adjourn the case for a long time while he remains in Custody.
