Your observation sharply highlights a profound and troubling misalignment of priorities that demands public scrutiny. It is indeed a stark irony that while the nation grapples with escalating security crises that threaten the very fabric of our society, a high-level delegation is dispatched to the UK to plead for the repatriation of a politician rightly convicted of a heinous crime. This allocation of political capital and diplomatic resources is a glaring misstep. One cannot help but imagine the transformative impact if that same delegation consisted of a task force of our finest security experts from aviation, telecommunications, cybersecurity, and EMPs engineers tasked with conducting a forensic audit of our national vulnerabilities. Such a mission could develop the actionable, blueprint solutions we so desperately need, instead of engaging in a futile effort that undermines the very principle of justice. This incident underscores a generational failure in leadership, but it also reinforces the non-negotiable truth that our redemption lies in a fundamental reorientation of values. We might not be able to rectify every challenge in our generation instantaneously, but if we commit to training the next generation to be better, more industrialized, innovative, and logical than we are, and make them fall in love with education instead of despising it, I believe we are on the right direction.

Tinubu is playing them all like a fiddle. grin grin grin

Floating all sorts of propaganda.

If Ekweremandu isn't released, the narrative is that "at least BAT tried" grin

Given the gravity of his crimes, UK wouldn't release him. Not even shorten his sentence for being of good behaviour.

Let him eat Akpu and Oha with under His Royal Majesty's custody. Whole former Deputy Senate President, appropriately disciplined!

You have been a LAWMAKER for almost 3 decades, yet you have always been a LAWBREAKER.
Tinubu has no intention of making any moves.

These half hearted attempts are for eye service.

Remember it is counted day and night... In actual he will only spend 4 years in custody. Two years already gone... He will be officially released in 2027.
Dey deceive yourself. 9 years is 9 years . 30 years is 30 years complete. I don’t know who brainwashed you lot with that theory

Ekweremadu's case is a bitter one but we must learn to read the signs and avoid some things.

The case was politically motivated but unfortunately, he fell into the trap.

The UK government are not ready to release him soon.
Everything that happen we say that it is politically motivated. This is what is killing this country.

Will the Nigerian government let him serve his full sentence if he's send to Nigeria? If he won't be serving the 9 years and 8 months if he's deported, then I see no reason the British government should hand him over.
Even in the UK , he won’t spend 9 years and 8 months in jail

I suspect he will totally ignore this news so as not to offend his people if he applauds the UK or offend other Nigerians if he questions the motive for requesting for his deportation in the first place.

. because he committed the offense in UK..so UK laws are strict..no one is above the law over there in UK

Giving Ekweremadu just 9 years 8 months sentence is too little. They should have made it 19 years.

They shouldn't even think of releasing him, Nigerian politicians are too wicked.

His daughter was dying. He tried to save his daughter’s life by buying from a willing seller. Anyone in his position would do the same. Unfortunately he was betrayed by the willing seller. A heartless big man would have gotten the organ through other fraudulent means. God will see him through.

SmartPolician:
If the UK transfers Ekweremadu to Nigeria today, Tinubu will pardon him tomorrow and he will go home the same day.

The Brits understand Nigérian politicians so well. That's why our politicians' request was declined.

You said this only because it wasn't successful. Human beings!!

But in your first paragraph, you hinted that he knew it wouldn't succeed.
I wonder what he stands to gain if he knew that it wouldn't succeed but still tried.
BTW: your votes in the SE wasn't part of the votes that made him the president in 2023. I don't think your votes for him in 2027 is the one that will make him win again, most especially now that all opposition parties are in disarray.

Your means for any candidate means nothing, history has shown
This is the persistent problem I have on NL. You have mistakenly concluded I am anti-Tinubu because of my comment.

I am not an asskisser. No human is perfect. All humans are fallible. Supporting what someone does 00% all the time isn't support but idolatry.

I am apolitical. Amongst the 3 leading candidates, Tinubu was my favorite if I were to choose. He is an extremely intelligent individual, and he is very committed to the country's development.

I fully support the ending of the fuel subsidy and the floating of the Naira. He was the only leader able to end the 50 year old fuel subsidy that has wrecked the economy and is the primary reasom for the huge debt that plagues the country today.

Despite Lamido Sanusi supporting Tinubu's economic reforms, he spoke out against the massive borrowing. Does that mean he hates Tinubu?

I am not Igbo. The sending of a team to plead for Ekweremadu leaves a bad taste in one's stomach. The British would simply brand the government as corrupt and lawless. There are hundreds of Nigerians rottening in UK's prisons, why Ekweremadu? They aren't stupid.

I don't even like Peter Obi.

Did I not say he would still win without the Igbo votes in 2027? The problem isn't me.

The crux of the matter is that you're a Tinubu superfan and any form of criticism of him is considered blasphemous.
