DICON Unveiled The First Batch Of Locally Manufactured DG-103 Rifles

Re: DICON Unveiled The First Batch Of Locally Manufactured DG-103 Rifles by NairaX: 9:32am On Nov 25, 2025
So we’re unveiling rifles… again.
Nice. Great. Fantastic PR. grin

But let’s be honest — Nigeria has “unveiled” more weapons than it has actually deployed to stop anything. Every year it’s a new gun, a new prototype, a new ceremony, a new hashtag… meanwhile the same bandits using 1970s AKs are still embarrassing a whole country with “locally manufactured” press conferences.

Until these DG-103s leave the photo-op table and actually reach soldiers on the field — not VIP escorts, not politicians’ nephews, not showcase museums — this is just another shiny announcement for social media.

We love unveiling. Delivering is the part we still haven’t copy-and-pasted from other nations.

Wake me when these rifles start reducing kidnapping stats, not when they’re trending. cool

Re: DICON Unveiled The First Batch Of Locally Manufactured DG-103 Rifles by DomPerignon:
What's the recoil like?

The latest AK-107 has zero recoil which makes for better accuracy and its range is higher than the 600-800m range of the older models and best of all is made partly of composite material and not wood.

Locally assembled you mean? Nigeria has a near absent steel industry. It has a very low number of skilled machinists. So how then can we build a rifle from the scratch?

whats all thishuh are we in the 18th century that making weapons is now an achievement

these days anyone with a brain can make a full functional gun, even i can do it , with a 3D ptinter or cnc machine plus blueprints and models, making a weapon is very easy.

making guns is very easy, can they try to make explosives from scratch?? lets see whether they have actual engineers with a functioning brain to do that??

The problem now may be the mass production.

At least it managed to pass the prototype stage unlike many others.

I digress, the question that should be on the lips of concerned nigerians is the poser raised by the kebbi state governor on who made the order calling out the soldiers guarding G.S.S Mako minutes before it was attacked?

If they make an explosive, you will say the same thing, then ask if they can't make a new planet.

Hope it doesn't overheat and jam in the middle of action like the OBJ006?

Such a welcoming decision!

I used to watch a YouTube channel where this guy shows many adaptations to making a gun from bamboo stalks..

I think it is important for everyone to learn that skill for self preservation...

You may not be able to get an AK 47 to deter these guys(bandits, terrorists, kidnappers, etc) but your projectiles may secure you from these area bad boys...

Making explosives is even easier

The koko is locally constructing a rocket propeller to propel or project any warhead to a desired distance or kilometer with accuracy.

What we should be celebrating is complete local production of rocket launchers, missile batteries, surveillance systems and drones, not assembling but local production from scratch

Other countries are already producing long range missiles and we are celebrating what people have been producing in Awka for a very long time now.

Are they selling to civilians?

The army have no need for rifles again.what they need now is a well equipped squadron of unmanned aerial vehicles for real time surveillance. Their battle field is bug they need what can accurately pinpoint the enemies in a position
