Residents of Oju and Obi LGAs in Benue state have staged a peaceful protest for three days along the Otukpo-Oju-Obi road with different placards calling on government attention to the deplorable condition of the abandoned road for decades.

The protesters lamented that it is only during elections that politicians remember them and make fake promises to get their votes, they said the former senate president David mark did nothing on the road for 16 years and his successor Abba Morro is now following his footstep.

That very road is not the State Governments responsibility.

The Otukpo-Oju-Obi Road is the Federal Government's responsibility to fix.

MEMO 📝 To President TINUBU ON
- THE IKORODU - AGBOWA-ITOKIN ROAD 🛣️ +AND EPE - ITOKIN ROAD 🛣️ - ALL IN LAGOS- STATE:
• Sir,We Have Been Calling On These Two Roads, that was all created During Awolowo Era.
•These Roads Are DEATH TRAPPED 🪤 and People Are Dying On Weekly Basis here!
These 2- Roads Are Different From One Another - But IKORODU -ITOKE ROAD IS ABOUT 37- Klom- lead to Epe ITOKE- ROAD - which is About 20- kilometers.
•For over 2- yrs now,we have been told that Ikorodu - Itokin have been Awarded - With No Single Progress on this Road.
These Roads Needs To Be Filled in Both Sides- for Expansion - which the Contractor Does Not Seems To Have the Capacity -And Should Be Done In CONCRETE - BECAUSE THE AREAS ARE WATER- LODGE -for it was Constructed By Julius Berger in the 80s then, but Due to Population Increases,
Expansion Of People and Properties - the Roads is Smaller Now!
CC:
•Hon MINISTER OF Works - UMAHI,
your Attention Is URGENTLY NEEDED HERE ON THESE 2- ROADS!
THank you and
God Bless Nigeria.

Their senator, Abba Moro is one
of the most colorless, inept senator
in Nigeria..

All the roads in his Zone are states of
total failure.

What he specializes in, in his constituency is attending social events like burials,
marriages and naming ceremonies.

Another pastime is women..

6 years and nothing tangible to show.😕😕😕😕😕😕😕😕

Anyway, Umahi may decide to assist
them after he completes the White
elephant Lagos to Calabar coastal highway in 2039😁😂😁😀

They should just cut this guys and add to cross River where they belong. Better than treating them like shit in their own state

How many times has Aba Moro flagged off the reconstruction of this road? What efforts has Ogewu made to address the situation?

We are on our way to Cross River already. We would leave Benue to the Tiv and Idoma people.

We all want government to fix road, but we don't want to pay the taxes and the maintenance to fix the roads

One big mistake made, no two of them...1) Obasanjo ending toll gates 2) FCT being forced to end parking tolls in 2013.

Only 30% of nigerians pay tax to federal and state government, oil money no fit reach 10 million people, talkless of 230 million, and we all don't want to pay the kind of tax they pay in europe or saner climes to have good roads because 'we are poor' or ;they will steal the money'....and we want good roads.?

LOL , and someone go tell me that I dey support government. Which government? The government that is making matters worse by not fighting corruption and changing our economy from oil dependency to industrial dependent, and science dependent, na that I go support?

Nigerians need to think, somethimes, abeg. cheesy

We dey say South Africa na better country...see their roads , and see the toll gates that funds the better roads.

Make we dey realize good things cost money, otherwise when Obi takes over in 2027, we will still be here complaining again and again. (tinubu has to go)

That very road is not the State Governments responsibility.

The Otukpo-Oju-Obi Road is the Federal Government's responsibility to fix.
You are right, its a federal road but if the federal government are not doing anything about it, can't the state government help them out?
